To think that the dull get too many advantages..

Just that really, I just feel that sometimes everything feels like it set up to help the dull.. Hang around for ages and you get promoted, don't have any interests or a social life, get a great credit rating, stay in one house for years and all the banks trust you, don't ever stick out, don't ever get hassled etc etc etc. .

Sorry to be thick but what is slate in the garden?

Anyone in need of cheering up, just look for Kylie performing Bette Davis Eyes, all the videos are awful quality but it's just so uplifting.

I will stop harping on about Kylie....

So the people that turn up on time, keep the company rolling, make the company look respectable and efficient should get less than those that go out on the lash, don't turn up on time. have the attention span of a gnat, and bounce around from job to job because they can;t settle?

InvisibleKittenAttack · 12/08/2017 22:51

Was Terry Pratchett the guy who wrote Aesops Fables?

No love, that was Aesop...

ADishBestEatenCold · 12/08/2017 22:52

"I just think that if I set up a company the dullards would get paid less than the stars you know, front of house staff more than warehouse people, sales people more than excel monkeys etc etc"

Fortunately for the hoi polloi, I think you are probably far too spontaneous, exciting and imaginative to ever set up a company dull enough to actually employ people.

"Omg.. Are are you calling me.. Gulp.. predictable crochet" Smile

Slate in the garden is OK if you are in a town where noone has slate in their garden, but these days every estate build after 1997 has slate as a 'feature' its like working in macdonalds and asking for a company baseball cap to increase your individuality

ExplodedCloud · 12/08/2017 22:59

Oh ho! We're the estate rebels then with our slateless garden Grin

elephantoverthehill · 12/08/2017 23:01

Grass is okay in the garden unless you live in the UK where everybody has a lawn.

Willow2017 · 12/08/2017 23:02

Ok you want to waste your money on being 'interesting', 'unpredictable' and partying but someone else should fund it for you cos you are too 'interesting' and 'unpredictable' to hold down a job for more than 2 days...I can see how that would work Hmm

IAmNotAWitch · 12/08/2017 23:02

Was Terry Pratchett the guy who wrote Aesops Fables?

Mate, it REALLY isn't your friend who is dull.

TheNaze73 · 12/08/2017 23:03

Smash the system

BasinHaircut · 12/08/2017 23:03

Sharon?

CinderellaRockefeller · 12/08/2017 23:05

On the upside you have all the qualities, self belief and charm which would make you a fab contestant on The Apprentice.

NeverTwerkNaked · 12/08/2017 23:06

cinderella Grin

MeanAger · 12/08/2017 23:06

Well as riveting as this wander into the exhilarating mind that is scaryclown's was, I am submitting to my dullard ways and heading to bed because I have work in the morning. Conformist though it may be it allows me to rebel in other ways, like eating.

InvisibleKittenAttack · 12/08/2017 23:07

I don't have slate in my garden! I do have decking though, which is middle class dullsville. Of course, I have better things to spend a couple of grand on than my garden, so we'll have a passé garden and nice holidays for the forseeable...

InvisibleKittenAttack · 12/08/2017 23:11
elephantoverthehill · 12/08/2017 23:12

Holy shit! I have slate, decking and grass. How unpredictable is that combo!

HotelEuphoria · 12/08/2017 23:13

Well I've read all your posts OP and I think you are either barking or under the influence of something illegal. Goodnight.

Trustmeimadoggroomer17 · 12/08/2017 23:15

Ever thought the people that have load of money saved are saving for something? Like retirement, their children's futures, a bigger house? Not just blowing it being so not dull,, pshhhh you sound so jealous

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 12/08/2017 23:20

The epic one liners in this thread have made my entire dull evening a bit brighter.

ExplodedCloud · 12/08/2017 23:23

Or possibly a host of The Apprentice... USA.

Slimthistime · 12/08/2017 23:24

I think Scary going on the Apprentice is a brilliant idea. Seriously. Make loads of money from press etc.

yetanotherelsa · 12/08/2017 23:26

What has really cheered me up this evening is how many MNers have sprung to defend their fabulously dull and predictable lifestyles. I have never been happier to be boring.

I'm just waiting for a trustafarian hippie or aged rockstar to come on and tell me I've got it all wrong and actually the only way to reach nirvana is to be wild and unpredictable at all times. Although they are probably too busy partying right now to burst my dullsville bubble of existence

ExplodedCloud · 12/08/2017 23:28

D'ya think scary's gone to bed?

GherkinSnatch · 12/08/2017 23:28

Either in bed or having an epic come down 😁
