ExH kissing DD15 on the lips

I know there's been a lot in the press recently about "celebs" kissing their young children on the lips, but what about older teenagers?
ExH turned up to pick up DD15 yesterday and kissed her on the lips as they walked to the car. The more I think about it, the more uncomfortable I am with it. I love my Dad with all my heart, but kissing him on the lips would just seem wrong.
AIBU to think it's weird or is it quite normal?

Yh that post was clearly about my bum... you can't argue with stupid.

The thread was about kissing yet you stated kissing is irresponsible because kids are more likely to be abused...

I don't think you even know what you're trying to say.

Chipshopninja · 11/08/2017 20:10

Interesting...

I am a woman and i kiss my son on the lips but i dont kiss my dad on the lips

Whether its "normal" or not i dont like the aitomatic assumption that it is creepy

ZanyMobster · 11/08/2017 20:18

Pandora- I was agreeing with you about the inappropriate nature, sorry if I worded it badly. You stated you do not like it, in which case it would always be inappropriate. If someone is willing and happy then presumably it isn't?

Zarah123 · 11/08/2017 20:19

Mamahanji

you can't argue with stupid.

And we have another one. Ever heard of the saying that you should argue with what someone is saying rather than attacking them as a person? No?

You call me stupid, and I'll respond in kind. What does that achieve?

I remember some of your posts. I really wouldn't bandy about the word stupid. Glass houses.

MamaHanji · 11/08/2017 20:25

I will actually apologise for that.

Nothing you have said is stupid even if I disagree with it.

I shouldn't have said it.

Zarah123 · 11/08/2017 20:31

Thanks

Ahickifromkinicki · 11/08/2017 20:36

I do wonder how many adult men kiss their mum, dad and grandparents on the lips.

kali110 · 11/08/2017 20:47

Wow wth has happened to this thread Hmm

SamineShaw · 11/08/2017 21:09

I'm not an expert but maybe this is one of those threads started by someone throwing a grenade and standing back to watch the fallout?

Needthesunshine · 11/08/2017 21:10

We're a family of lip kissers. Don't think anything about it as it's normal for us and nothing creepy or sexual about it.

IonaMumsnet · 11/08/2017 21:13

Ahem

Mychildcouldnotbreaatfeed · 11/08/2017 21:15

Iona. Are you sock puppeting and are really Olivia ? 😂😉😜. (JOKE!)

squoosh · 11/08/2017 21:16

Seems there are a few people who not only don't want to kiss their own family members on the lips but are really riled that other people do. Strange.

I gave myself away there by forgetting the Archers is not on the box. Dammit. Can't even impersonate Olivia tonight. Anyway. My ahem stands.

Mychildcouldnotbreaatfeed · 11/08/2017 21:21

Twins Iona? You're soooo trolling.

😂😜

Mychildcouldnotbreaatfeed · 11/08/2017 21:22

I'm joking. Before I get banned for trollhunting.

IonaMumsnet · 11/08/2017 21:26

It's quints if I'm honest. Totes exhausted. We're in Maui though, so that makes up for it a bit. I'm buying all five of them their first plimsolls tomorrow. Anyone got any suggestions as to which might be suitable?

IonaMumsnet · 11/08/2017 21:36

You're an angel. I'll order seven pairs (two for the twins I'm adopting).

Right. It's last orders at the Woolpack on the Archers so I'm just going to switch the telly on and see if Mandy manages to hide Trevor under the patio or not.

I'm losing it now. And I've killed the thread. I need to tune up my ahem don't I?

caffeine99 · 11/08/2017 21:49

Add me to the weird pile - I'm 35 and still kiss my father on the lips.

Perfectly normal in our family and I hope my children grow up the same.
