CFN Thread #9 (Better call Planning)

Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

Thanks pp for the thread title - which coincidentally was very apt!

No sign of CFN/ builders etc.

There's now a sign up saying
NO ENTRY IN TO PRIVATE GARDEN
CONTACT SOLICITORS NAME if you require further information.

Fanbloodytastic, way go go Watty. Don't forgot to update us about nndn. What a whopper of a bill they've got plus the fine (cackles while punching air)
As we have a whole weekend to wait can we please have sangria recipe from the lovely spangran Grin

readyforno2 · 04/08/2017 14:55

I wonder if they even know? Great update op Flowers

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/08/2017 14:58

And yet some people still deny there is a God!

Mix56 · 04/08/2017 14:58

Yay, now you can relax, no more anguish, it may take a while, but at least you know there won't be doors !

FUNM · 04/08/2017 14:58

Could you sue them for emotional distress??? Grin

Vango · 04/08/2017 15:01

We could all sue them for that FUNM Grin

Blatherskite · 04/08/2017 15:01

Oh to be a fly on the wall when the CFNs hear the news :)

DooRight · 04/08/2017 15:01

MNeters 2 - 0 CFNE, CFN & CFB....

Justice for the Watty Household (and Others)

CFN&CFB (one & the same? - who knows?) 100% brought it on themselves..

Epic update OP - please continue to keep us posted - and don't leave out a SINGLE detail...

Sirrah · 04/08/2017 15:01

Only my second contribution to these threads, I've been on tenterhooks throughout!

Anyway, I suspect that the work to rectify the wanton destruction of the original window and wall will be billed to CFN and then, if they are unable to pay, a charge could be put on the property which would force them to sell, and pay for the work from the proceeds.

A very expensive mistake to make!

LurkingHusband · 04/08/2017 15:02

TL;DR, but make sure you are recompensed for any inconvenience and distress ... even if CFN turn out to be as poor as church mice (which they may well be after the courts have finished with them) it's worth lodging a claim ...

LadyAsherton · 04/08/2017 15:03

They picked the wrong woman to mess with; well done!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 04/08/2017 15:04

The fact that the building is Listed was amazingly useful.
Whattyy would have had a struggle on her hands to stop the CFN if it had just been a standard building and they were allowed to install doors under Permitted Development.
Then she would have had to fight to keep her garden private.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 04/08/2017 15:09

Can we start casting for the nice builders from English Heritage?
Needs to be senstive and intelligent, and look good with their shirt off!

What about alexander skarsgard and stephen moyer ( Bill and Eric from True Blood) ?

ooooooooo! Great update. I wonder if they'll have to bring in an actual stone mason! Imagine! I'm picturing a hunky stone mason with no shirt Grin

redfragglebiker · 04/08/2017 15:11

@Watty - Hurrah - So pleased that you got to a decent resolution. Given that you may have to allow access for the to fix the fuck-up I would think your solicitor would be advising a decent sum of compensation for expenses, inconvenience and distress caused.

Genuinely lol @SchadenfreudePersonified for the shitting bricks!

Paddingtonsmarmaladesandwiches · 04/08/2017 15:12

So happy for you Whatyy

they were allowed to install doors under Permitted Development.

I don't think they would have. I'm sure there are limits on that you can do on walls at property boundaries. A window must be the limit, and only because it already existed.
(can't be arsed to look it up)

knockedover · 04/08/2017 15:14

Delurking just to say that's a great result from the planning people and I can feel the delight washing through this thread. Lovely to conclude the week on a high note and may the CFN's get everything they deserve!!

Boosiehs · 04/08/2017 15:20

Well done Whattyy! I am exhausted, so I imagine you must be totally drained by the whole saga. What a triumph. It makes me feel better about all the times the wrong guy has won. You have redressed the balance. Tonight I shall mainly be drinking sangria. Wine

Lweji · 04/08/2017 15:22

If you're not driving, Abuela is right.

ladycatlover · 04/08/2017 15:23

Oh well done Watty! Waiting with bated breath for next update.

Best wishes from Bwlchtocyn, Gwynedd. Holiday at the mo, but it's such a nice flag!
