CFN Thread #9 (Better call Planning)

Okay so I wasn't going to post until I'd had some kind of resolution. However, planning called today to ask if they could access my garden on Friday as they need to do some "further investigation" and have another planning official who will be there to oversee it??

They wouldn't tell me over the phone what it was about (it wasn't Nice Planning Lady, it was someone I hadn't spoken with before)

Thanks pp for the thread title - which coincidentally was very apt!

No sign of CFN/ builders etc.

There's now a sign up saying
NO ENTRY IN TO PRIVATE GARDEN
CONTACT SOLICITORS NAME if you require further information.

Oh this sounds promising!

minxlynx · 02/08/2017 18:45

Friday seems to be the day that the council do visits (CFN parking saga) lol.

Hope you get some answer and a plan on what is happening next

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 02/08/2017 18:47

Haha. I would let spangran loose on them! No very important planning person can say no to a gran!

But maybe distract her with all the wonderful recipes from here? Surely she'd love to have a go at making some of them...?

WhatIsThisWatt · 02/08/2017 18:47

minx I was just reading the parking one and came on to say that!! Grin

Ooh a further development! Exciting!

MrsJackRackam · 02/08/2017 18:49

Have I missed the promised Sangria recipe? (On remote Scottish island and wifi is up and down like a pair of whore's knickers)

Venusflytwat · 02/08/2017 18:49

God your planners move at warp speed compared to round here, I'm deeply jealous.

Well done re sign.

sparechange · 02/08/2017 18:49

Do you know what time they are coming?
Can you send SpanGran out 10 mins before the allotted time to get them some nice wine, and hope they don't stay too long..? Wine

DartmoorDoughnut · 02/08/2017 18:51

Def let SpanGran loose

SasBel · 02/08/2017 18:55

Good luck with distracting spangran, may I suggest you let her cook up a massive paella for the planners?

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/08/2017 18:55

Brilliant that you've got a sign. I hope CFN doesn't come along and remove it. Apart from the legal recourse, you could perhaps print off a sign and stick it on the inside of your windows for any potential viewers of CFN's flat. So a bunch of brightly coloured A4 sheets with wording something like IF YOU CAN SEE THIS YOU ARE STANDING ON MY PROPERTY. Kind of the alternative to curtains.....

RiversrunWoodville · 02/08/2017 18:57

Ooh

KitKat1985 · 02/08/2017 18:57

Oooh exciting to hear the planners are back Friday.

Immediately cancels all plans for Friday so can stay in and click 'refresh' every 5 minutes

WhatIsThisWatt · 02/08/2017 19:02

Mummyoflittledragon that's a FANTASTIC idea - ok I'm literally on it now! Grin

Friday is going to be a top day - the CFN parking thread OP has got a council bod turning up to inspect CFN business on Friday as well...and I'm photographing a wedding all day so I'm GOING TO MISS IT ALL

chocolateworshipper · 02/08/2017 19:03

Great news OP

happypoobum · 02/08/2017 19:04

Can you add "So Fuck Off" to the sheets in the window?

Or something sweary in Spangran?

LakieLady · 02/08/2017 19:06

Lol SasBel, I was going to suggest SpanGran knock them up a nice jug of sangria and a selection of tapas!

I wonder if they'll want to look at the bricks that were removed and dumped in Watty's garden?

Liquid, I'm very jealous of your job. Had I known that there was such a thing as a building archaeologist when I was little, I'd have wanted to be one.

MadamePomfrey · 02/08/2017 19:07

The sign and window posters sound perfect would definitely make me think twice.

Not sure what to make of Friday it might be hopeful in that the have has some contact from Cf's which means things will start moving. Or it might be no contact means they are escalating things their end???? Anyone wise in the ways of planning and care to enlighten us??

Can you email NPL try and get info from her in the guise of figuring out how much time off work you will need?

safariboot · 02/08/2017 19:17

Foreign 'developers' could face JAIL after illegally bulldozing heritage window

That sound like a suitable Daily Mail headline?

CoraPirbright · 02/08/2017 19:17

Ooh MadamePomfrey is a cunning genius! Do that OP!! Email the NPL!!

Mumzypopz · 02/08/2017 19:20

Placemark

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/08/2017 19:23

Great! Glad I could help. As it sounds like cheeky developers, I hope this costs them big time. And I say that as someone, who over the past few years has bought a couple of houses in a mess and sold them on for a profit. They should be doing it to enhance the neighbourhood and add value to the surrounding houses. Not to piss everyone else off.

diddl · 02/08/2017 19:30

Ooh!

Friday's the day!!!

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 02/08/2017 19:31

Just by way of a placemark, here is the flag of my holiday location (bonus CFN garden gnome to anyone who can identify it).
