Done to death previously but always new members joining!

I am not famous, dont have any celebrity friends. It fascinated by what it must be like to be famous or have famous relatives or friends!

Anyone willing to spill any beans tonight to cheer me up!

Hope you weren't 13

Hope, it was a local card game on the east side.

Ciaovenora · 02/08/2017 03:25

*Nope not hope.

Arealhumanbeing · 02/08/2017 03:26

I've certainly had my fifteen minutes. A few times.

@WildBelle

Are you Belle de Jour?

Zoflorabore · 02/08/2017 08:09

We are distantly related to a very famous footballer, the name is unusual so many people will ask if we are related to him as a joke and the truth is yes, never even met him though!

PoppyPopcorn · 02/08/2017 08:25

As if anyone's going to own up to being a celebrity. And it DOESN'T MATTER - we're all here anonymously, we can change usernames, say what we like. People in the public eye are parents too with the same worries and issues and it's probably a release for them to rant on here about their child not sleeping or their DH being an idiot without anyone knowing who they are.

LittleRedRidingHood99 · 02/08/2017 08:43

Buttonhead it doesn't matter at all, I just have always wondered and thought would be a good thread to bring back :)

EWAB that's an interesting perspective about selling stories, about how that can change the family dynamic.

I hate celebrities like the Kardashians, reality to stars, but thinking imagine if your cousin was madonna, would you make sure people knew (thinking of the Catherine Tate I was Molly sugdens bridesmaid sketch)!

I work with someone who has a very famous brother (household name) she mentioned him when she joined the company when we were playing like a truth and lice breaker, and she has a large family group photo on her desk with him in it. However she never talks about it or name drops.

I also know the mum of a celebrity on a reality tv show who has told me it's mostly scripted and put on for effect.

Thanks to all who posted had fun reading these!

I was on BBC breakfast news last month. I've since been stopped in my local Tesco and asked about it by people I don't know.

CockacidalManiac · 02/08/2017 09:13

Zoflorabore
Would he be from the Channel Islands?

PrinceGeorgeTheCutest · 02/08/2017 09:22

It was a pleasure to visit your thread although I am saddened there was no ribbon to cut and that Granny told Mummy and she took away my iPad last night. She also deleted my secret stash of Thomas The Tank Engine photos and said i can't be a train driver when I'm older. Piffle. I shall be King and drive trains all day!

Lucysky2017 · 02/08/2017 09:37

Depends what is meant by famous. I would say I am not in most senses of the word atlhough some people in my narrow professional area may have heard of me. I wrote 30 books, been occasionally on TV and radio in a very very small way.

Jayfee · 02/08/2017 09:40

my son was at school with keira knightly...does that count?

The80sweregreat · 02/08/2017 09:47

\i'm trying to think of who would only be on TV on a monday night!
Having a mum who was an author must be awesome though - i would love to be able to write a novel.
Nobody famous here, never met any celebs.
Often wonder what it must be like to be really well known, although i can imagine it must be hard sometimes.

Winterc00kie · 02/08/2017 09:51

Ive been on dinner date before......I was going through a mid twenties life crisis....

SymphonyofShadows · 02/08/2017 10:03

I've got lots of musician friends, some better known than others, but mostly very niche. One of them used to be 'bedroom wall' popular though.

My cousin was in a moderately famous band in the naughties (think snow patrol). I didn't think they were that famous but a couple of days before the wedding I mentioned something about them to my best friend and bridesmaid who was shocked that I hadn't mentioned that I was related to someone from that band before. Then at my wedding we later found out that loads of our friends were trying to take sneaky photos of my cousin (it was a shame as the poor thing wasn't feeling well and probably really didn't want his photo taken). Also, the first minister of Scotland came to my house to help me with a school project (as I couldn't get to his surgery on a Saturday due to my part time job)

BorisTrumpsHair · 02/08/2017 10:47

I am extremely famous hair and there.

BorisTrumpsHair · 02/08/2017 10:48

This just made me think of Scott Baio - look how that turned out.
Oh the shame Blush

trulybadlydeeply · 02/08/2017 11:18

I've been on Naked Attraction, although you probably wouldn't recognise my face...

RiversrunWoodville · 02/08/2017 11:48

Not famous at all but used to move in the same circles as Eddie Irvine when I was younger, stayed firmly on the outer circle he loved himself enough for all of us

MrsPorth · 02/08/2017 12:21

A guy I was friendly with in the 1990s had been on Grange Hill in the 1980s. Every time we went out I noticed that strangers would look intently at him, and some would come over for a chat. Thankfully people had stopped recognising him by the time 'phone cameras came out. I can't imagine what it must be like for global celebs or those with enduring careers, given what it was like for someone who'd acted in one thing, albeit a very popular thing, for just a couple of years!

A woman I work with has a daughter who's quite friendly with Charlotte Church's DD Ruby, and it's "Charl" this and "Ruby Henson" that. I suspect that she doesn't know the family all that well though!

x2boys · 02/08/2017 12:30

Zammo,Rolly MrsPorth?

peachgreen · 02/08/2017 12:36

@Jayfee I was at school with Keira Knightley too! Primary or secondary?

Rach3637475 · 02/08/2017 12:49

DH is famous. Retired athlete. He's probably more well known now than when he was playing sport professionally tbh. He was notorious more than famous back then but he does other stuff now.
