We're going to have to call a halt to Brexit aren't we?

Lukewarm Remain voter here. Understand that the Government has to listen to 'the will of the people' and all that.

But for the love of God, now that it's clear what absolute economic suicide we're committing surely we've got to put a halt to it whilst the govt and the opposition work out what the fuck's going on!

So you don't think that the UK would have to abide by EU Aviation law?

More delusions...

Fresh8008 · 08/08/2017 20:12

Going to meetings with no briefing papers
That's spin its not true.

So you don't think that the UK would have to abide by EU Aviation law?

To the extent that any other non EU country flying into the EU does, of course we will. But that does not involve being controlled by the ECJ.

And if there are any arguments about competition with this jurisdiction?

Who do you think is going to adjudicate on those?

where are the thought out positions ? I'd love to read them.
Do you think I am one of the negotiators? Sorry I am not.

Who do you think is going to adjudicate on those?
A neutral third party.

Maybe that would be one of the negotiated details you're not interested in Interested or not, any thoughts I have on the matter are irrelevant as I have no input into the process. So like a sane person, I will wait until its been decided before getting all worked up about it.

Fruit Farmer starts to think about Brexit reality
I agree that if a farmer can't pick his fruit he doesn't have a business. I dont hear anyone suggesting that.

brightlightceiling · 08/08/2017 20:29

If you believe in democracy you should respect the wishes of the majority voters. I am sad that so many people didn't understand what the referendum was about or didn't vote at all. I am also sad that you are leaving the EU. However, if you do not respect the wishes of the majority voters you pave the way for a dictatorship.

You were fine before EU. You can try to build a nice economy without it again. Don't forget, if it doesn't work out you can hold a referendum to join us again. Most of us are gutted that you are leaving and would love to see you back with us!

whosafraidofabigduckfart doesn't this work the other way as well.
How will you PM deal with keeping banned UK items being trafficked across the new boarder?
What advice has Brussels offered him, and how does he intend to deal with people who cross the boarder to buy cheaper items from either side to sell for a profit.
What Grants will they offer him to make this happen?
What demands does he have for the UK, could you please list these?

ClamBakeSnake · 08/08/2017 20:34

A 'democratic' result based on lies is worthless. So you'll excuse me if I ignore your advice.

Fresh8008 · 08/08/2017 20:36

whosafraidofabigduckfart (Going to meetings with no briefing papers), your the one making that claim, the burden of proof is yours.

I was assuming you where referring to the photoshoot with DD having no papers on the table, which was ridiculed. So where is the proof of having no position papers in meetings?

I can forward to our prime minister as he's also labouring under the same illusion as me. Can you PM me next weeks lottery numbers?
And our PM is a woman, at least for now.

Fresh is so quick to dismiss well reasoned and evidenced opinions of what is happening and what is likely to happen, but when asked what the alternatives are?

Oh, someone else is going to sort that out!

WTAF? I hope those 50 cents are adding up for you...

mummmy2017 · 08/08/2017 20:42

whosafraidofabigduckfart We still need to know your detailed plans for the boarder, it has 2 sides yours and our.

What are your countries demands?
What do Brussels offer you as advice to move forward.

Maybe read the posts before dismissing them.

Fresh8008 · 08/08/2017 20:46

The clock is ticking but we will all sit about waiting for the UK to figure out what it wants
I just dont believe that. We know what we want (have your cake ...) and we are negotiating to get as much of it as we can (knowing we wont get it all). I just dont get how remainers expect answers before the solution has been worked out.

A 'democratic' result based on lies is worthless So every democratic government in the world is worthless? If there were lies on one side it was for the other side to point them out. That's what a democracy does.

ClamBakeSnake · 08/08/2017 20:46

whosafraidofabigduckfart We still need to know your detailed plans for the boarder, it has 2 sides yours and our.

No.

Ireland has been clear. Ireland does not want a hard border therefore it's up to the UK govt to come up with a solution. Why the hell would Ireland be doing the UK's work for them?

I said I'm Irish so my Taoiseach is a man
Sorry whosafraidofabigduckfart, I realised after I hit post that you were referring your Irish PM rather than my British one. That doesn't change the meaning of the post, how is it you are aware of your PM's inner thoughts? Because politicians are so know for speaking the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
