Agree with Hygge. Worth keeping a diary of events as I have a horrible feeling this may take a while.

You could try any of these

OK I'm totally lost I need help here.
I was at work with no Mumsnet access, for 12 hours straight and need someone to tell me what the heck is going on. I read that Spanish gran will be here Monday, and what are the doors abut. Is there a second set of doors installed or just one?
I must know, but me eyes can't take more, I'm pretty sure it was 3 threads when I went to work this morning.

How can you get a bouncy castle in the garden, will it have to go through your house?

They come deflated in a small box or bag. The OP will plug in the blower upper thingie* and it will inflate to full size in the garden. I'm assuming it's a home one designed for 2-3 kids rather than a full on assault course.

*technical term

The Star Wars link took a long time to load but it was worth it 😂😂😂 surely that's the intro to the movie sorted now 😂😂😂

Greypaw · 29/07/2017 21:26

(Well, it would have been had the damn photo attached itself)

BoomBoomsCousin · 29/07/2017 21:26

I love the spider man's arse bouncy castle! And a bouncy castle isn't a bad thing, especially in the summer holidays with little ones around, but if you want a non-confrontational way to stop the doors being opened, could you get wrought iron chairs with slightly flared backs and a wrought iron table to place right there, with the corners of the chairs set so the glass part of the doors will smash when the doors are opened? It might take some work to position things so they can't slightly opent he doors and push the table and chairs out of the way.

Anther alternative, if it's going to take a long time to resolve, is a big sheet of Perspex set right in front of the doors (and so not blocking light) for your DC to kick a ball against. Because, obviously, before he had the wall he could aim at lower down, and now you are really very worried about breaking their new window...

More immediately the tie around the handles sounds like a really good idea. Make it tight so they can't just open the door a little way and cut them. And put several on so they can't break them by pushing really hard. It's a bit like wheel clamps to stop cars driving off.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 29/07/2017 21:26

So you reckon she'll be up for a bounce?

Sorry, but did I have a small snigger at this. Grin I wonder if the NNDN or even "Ken" are single & near Gran's age.?

AudTheDeepMinded · 29/07/2017 21:26

Three boys under 7 here, in Exeter, and willing to attend any bouncy party. We are also happy to bring recorders and drums for impromptu practise session (none of them can carry a tune in a bucket or have any rhythm whatsoever but my goodness they are LOUD).
As an extra treat I can prevent youngest from having his nap, that's always a very special afternoon for us and we'd be happy to share the experience.

bluediamonds · 29/07/2017 21:27

engol, it gets inflated once it's in the garden (that's the sort of question I'd normally ask!).

MySecretToTell · 29/07/2017 21:28

I love this saga, it's kept me entertained all day, thank you OP for being so great with updates Grin

Just a thought...Could the window have been a fire escape for the CFN? I'm just thinking that you wouldn't want to give them any ammunition against you if you block their fire escape with bouncy castle/bench/fence etc. I can totally understand why you'd want to do it though Grin

What I'm up for bouncy castle, it's actually DS's birthday in a few days so you could just pretend he's your nephew and he'll go along with anything for a bounce tbh Grin (we're in the south)
