Well, I'm just not sure what I'm going to do.
I've been following this thread since it started, but I have got to go on holiday tomorrow. My question is.... are the actions of CFN covered under the terms of holiday insurance, say if I had to cancel on account of the fact I could miss their return? (and subsequent carnage). Please advise....

Evidence of Cheeky Fucking Lidl's fuckery.

I know I have no right to ask anyone to do anything but, and especially, in light of recent events can everyone stop talking about what constitutes a fire escape!!

WoofWoofMooWoof · 30/07/2017 11:11

The doors aren't in your garden, they're in the other flat.

Ah, but the handles are lol Grin.

MrsMozart · 30/07/2017 11:15

Spookle that's surely Trading Standars worthy ShockConfused

TheMaddHugger · 30/07/2017 11:19

spookle Wahh ? 😲

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 30/07/2017 11:20

spookle,

I scrolled down a bit too quick...thought your pic of Lidl's rippleless was captioned "Look, no fucking nipples"...bit like the old gag about Wall's having ears and finding one in your ice cream Grin

ShesABloodyLoon · 30/07/2017 11:23

Right, according to OP's agreement that the window posted was an accurate representation of the original, it was never a viable fire escape as it was a window comprised of smaller panes. Not sash either by the look so unable to be opened. Smashing the glass for escape would not help as you would need to break the wood out too. IF it was used in the event of a fire, the CFN would find themselves trapped, unable to get out of the fully enclosed courtyard as it's very possible all connected flats could be ablaze or they simply have no way to get through locked, empty non-flaming flats.

Also, the patio doors are made of large glass panels. Gorilla tape isn't stopping the glass being smashed in order to allow escape anyway.

So bog off with the "fire escape" nonsense. It isn't and never was.

Leave the tape as is. It is causing no damage whatsoever. The handles are protruding onto your private property and you are preventing illegal access to your land OP. Any sticky residue can be wiped off easily with WD40 when this is all over.

Shit. They are just merrily carrying on, aren't they?!

I hope you hear from planning and your solicitor sharpish on Monday morning, OP.

gingeristhenewblack43 · 30/07/2017 11:30

CFNs will be to blame for a global economy crash soon if they don't hurry up and show their faces! The rate of production has slowed down across the world as we've all downed tools and settled in with BiscuitBrewCakeWineGin to await their return Wink

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/07/2017 11:30

TattyCat, you should change your name to GlossyDog!

Having bought two listed properties, both the estate agents and the conveyancing solicitors spelled out in words of one syllable exactly what "listed" meant, and what could or couldn't be done to the flat.

WashBasketsAreUs · 30/07/2017 11:30

My friends had an extension many years ago. It went right up to the boundary and she wasn't allowed to have any windows opening outwards as it encroached on the neighbours land, albeit 20 feet up in the air! Just saying.
On another note, where will the bouncy castle go if the old window is still in Watyyy's garden? Did the builders take that yesterday?
In for a penny, in for a pound - another question! If the builders came yesterday ( knowing you were out?) what's the betting they'll know you're at work tomorrow and be expecting to sneak back in then? Can anyone stay at yours tomorrow?

De-lurking... read the first thread in amazement, missed a few in the middle, then caught up with this one. That Trello board is magnificent, so helpful for filling in the parts I missed without having to read through 3-4000 posts picking out the OPs!

It's a very entertaining story (since it's not happening to me!) but I think this is likely to drag on for a really long time... the CFN hasn't even made an appearance at this point. Hopefully I'm wrong and it gets sorted fairly quickly but this must be so stressful.

TheMaddHugger · 30/07/2017 11:34

AnarchyKitty what a marvelous fluffykins 🐱

Noregretsatall · 30/07/2017 11:34

Ah! Lost you all late last night...found you all again! And....thread is almost full....again. What a saga!

IheartCaptainHolt · 30/07/2017 11:34

Could someone re link the Trello board so I can behold it's magnificence?

theymademejoin · 30/07/2017 11:37

I missed the link for the trello board. Would someone please point me towards it as we have visitors so I don't have time to go back through the threads to find it?

theymademejoin · 30/07/2017 11:38

Sorry - cross post. Thanks hamster.

MipMipMip · 30/07/2017 11:41

That PARKLIFE is brilliant! Although should out not be PLANNING or LISTED?

fuckwitery · 30/07/2017 11:42

cannot believe I've finally managed to catch up on the thread thus far and no return of CFNs!

Laine21 · 30/07/2017 11:42

Ceto, I wish! im a northern lass who would have done much more than wrap tape round the handles!

Foreverhopeful22 · 30/07/2017 11:42
