...I did do all the recaps though

-doesn't want all the glory, but wouldn't mind some-

All those worrying about the OP taping up a fire exit - it's not a bloody fire exit is it though? It's an illegal access to the OP's private garden. A walled garden at that with no further exit except through the OP's home.

Veronicat · 30/07/2017 08:17

It's Sunday prays that CFNs return today
And rename your WiFi to Get Orf Moi Lan Wink

IggyAce · 30/07/2017 08:18

Well I go to work for one day (couldn't check in as was photographing a wedding held in a tipi) and this amazing thread is now upto 6 threads. Ken sounds like a lovely chap and wouldn't be surprised if everyone who uses shop is made aware of what cfn have done. Hopefully planning lady get back to you Monday. Hope you and your wonderful friend had a good nights sleep and are ready to party in your garden.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 08:18

I bloody love the MN community spirit that's united behind OP in her hour and 6 flipping threads of need, battling CFNs' eejitry

This is what happens when you are in the Provisional Wing of MumsNet - Motto: No Wumman Left Behind: No Cheeky Fucker Left Unscathed.
(Any chance of one of the GardenGate Intellectuals translating that into Latin, so we could put it on a badge? Grin )

Because all joking aside, this must be bloody stressful for Wattyyyy, and I'm glad that we can all help to lift the mood for her whilst also having a bit of fun ourselves and indulging our more violent fantasies against CFNs everywhere . This is much more of a teambuilding exercise than paint balling and I speak from bitter experience.

Laughter and a common enemy - a bond that cannot be broken.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 08:20

C8

Thank you so much for the Trello invitation, but I can't ATM - if I have the chance I will get back to you for very detailed, idiot-level instructions.

Pannnn · 30/07/2017 08:21

friendly police officers from last night?

we don't know who is and isn't what on tinternet. And even if they were a copper the av copper is clueless about this sort of thing. Isn't in their usual sphere of reference and would probs indicate it's a civil dispute.

if planner trio said leave alone, it's the way to go. It isn't a 'security issue' for you.

eatabagofdicks · 30/07/2017 08:23

Another waving from Australia!

I second blocking their access from your garden by putting something heavy in front of it! I also like the high fence idea. It's not fair though that any of this should cost you money.

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 30/07/2017 08:23

FWIW I agree with mightymeerkat. I would worry about taping up a fire escape.

What "fire escape"?

picklemepopcorn · 30/07/2017 08:23

Thank goodness. I'm up to date before I go out... How many threads will we be up to by the time I get back?

Loving the Shakespeare... need to investigate this mysterious trello thing. Didn't dare stop mid thread to see as I may never have caught up!

Feelingiabu · 30/07/2017 08:24

I love friends new name DTB Duct Tape Barbie, brilliant!

The taping is funny Grin but in the light of day yeah I'd take the tape off, it's obviously not the fire exit (and they are knobs) but it's probably damage to their property? (whether it's legally installed or not?)

Maybe not (I have no knowledge of these things!) but I wouldn't want to give them anything they could say against you Grin

(Too many brackets)!

SnickersWasAHorse · 30/07/2017 08:24

As much as I love your friend and her gaffer tape I do agree that you should try to keep the moral high ground here.

I don't believe that the CFN live there at all. I believe they are buy to let or buy to sell on. I don't think we will see them back today.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 08:26

Lovely spanner Hugger- we also have a LBD (little black dog, obviously), and she is even prettier than yours. Wink

HappyEverIftar · 30/07/2017 08:26

Morning from Saudi Arabia! DH is working today so I get as much time as I like following this and not doing housework Grin. Have fun with the bouncy castle party! How many have you got coming round?

insancerre · 30/07/2017 08:28

They could always use the fire escape they would have had to use before the doors were there
I doubt they would have been able to use the kitchen window as a fire escape
Most downstairs windows are designed so that people can't climb in them.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 30/07/2017 08:29

That Trello thing is fucking genius.

Someone update the countries list. overinvested

Miserylovescompany2 · 30/07/2017 08:30

@C8H10N401 WOW!!! Just checked your T board - it's beyond fabulous - hats off to you and all those contributors thus far...

faithinthesound · 30/07/2017 08:30

(Any chance of one of the GardenGate Intellectuals translating that into Latin, so we could put it on a badge?)

I so read that as "so we could put it on a badger" and I thought HAVE THE LUDICROUS SUGGESTIONS NOT GONE FAR ENOUGH?

May be time to put the bourbon down...

SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/07/2017 08:31

I just have a feeling that she has given them the upper hand a bit and would not be surprised if CFN reported you for damage. Not that it would make their own problems go away but it's am opportunity to "get their own back" for reporting them. Just sayin.

TBH Maverick, if Wattyyyy was approached by the police, or CFN or lawyer regarding this, I think that as a woman living on her own she could rightly claim that her safety and peace of mind were compromised, knowing that strangers could get into the garden and then possibly into her home via the other flat.

At worst, the duct tape will leave sticky residue on the door handles. We can have a whip round to get a bottle of Sticky Stuff Remover. You can get it from Lakeland Plastics.

It doesn't work, but it's the thought that counts.

faithinthesound · 30/07/2017 08:31

@HeartsTrumpDiamonds

I have been updating the countries list as things are added on the thread! Haven't added cities/counties though. Could, if people really want me to. PM ME IF YOU WANT YOUR CITY ADDED ON YOUR COUNTRY'S CARD.

faithinthesound · 30/07/2017 08:33

Not to mention the very existence of the doors is against the law, putting CFN in the wrong first.

Pinksun12 · 30/07/2017 08:36

Luxembourg here

Veronicat · 30/07/2017 08:38

A damp grey Scotland here.👋

ClashCityRocker · 30/07/2017 08:39

Dunno gorilla tape is pretty hard to get off isn't it? We have the double sided stuff holding out living room blind up.

I think it would probably be wiser not to have done it, but can totally see why they did.

Pannnn · 30/07/2017 08:39

Portugal via the Azores calling. PM'd you.
