They're not for us grown women are they? They're for little girls and I think they look nice enough. People saying they are common or chavvy are probably people I wouldn't get on with I don't think as I know I wouldn't like the kind of person who sneers at colourful decorative bows that little girls seem to love.

Mumof56 · 29/07/2017 17:33

@DioneTheDiabolist

Your son wears one?Hmm

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/07/2017 17:35

I would say only about 20% of DS's school wears them. And it's the same 20% whose kids are always in trouble and the parents are always rowing with each other

Really? You sound ridiculous.

NicolasFlamel · 29/07/2017 17:35

podgebod agreed, she's lovely. They were awful to her.

DioneTheDiabolist · 29/07/2017 17:36

Sometimes Mumof56. What's the wee humpy face for?Confused

NicolasFlamel · 29/07/2017 17:37

Dione didn't you know they can catch The Gay from hair bows?!

Banderwassnatched · 29/07/2017 17:37

They're marketed at children. But so what? Some of my clothes are children's clothes. Some are boys clothes. You like something, you can wear it, can't you? Or does it have to be marketed at 30-year-old women?

Insomnibrat · 29/07/2017 17:39

Another vote for 'chavvy' here i'm afraid.

Goingtobeawesome · 29/07/2017 17:42

What's a Jo Jo bow?

DonutCone · 29/07/2017 17:43

Very, very chavtastic.

I wouldn't let DD wear them, despite lots of begging.

MissAlabamaWhitman · 29/07/2017 17:44

Lol @ Bumflannel 🤣

MsGameandWatching · 29/07/2017 17:46

I wouldn't let DD wear them, despite lots of begging.

How very controlling of you. Not to mention the poster who threw her child's gift in the bin.

Banderwassnatched · 29/07/2017 17:47

'Chavvy, chavtastic'- the classism is strong in these ones.

Cornettoninja · 29/07/2017 17:47

Ach they're tacky as shit but if you can't be tacky as a kid when can you be?

I remember converting the 80's version with a passion. My dm was the original 70's hip chick and determined to avoid pink and barbies - guess what attracted me like a magpie to treasure?

It's a bow, not a thong and dolphin tattoo on the lower back.

SerfTerf · 29/07/2017 17:48

'Orrible.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 29/07/2017 17:48

This thread is really disgusting.

MsGameandWatching · 29/07/2017 17:51

I would say only about 20% of DS's school wears them. And it's the same 20% whose kids are always in trouble and the parents are always rowing with each other

That school sounds very exciting. I've had a child in an inner city primary for six years and never once seen parents arguing with each other.

reuset · 29/07/2017 17:52

I'd dismiss any opinions bandying the words 'chavvy' and 'chavtastic' around. It's a favourite word of some the ignorant on the baby name threads.

IdentifiesAsYoda · 29/07/2017 17:52

Ridiculous. Not cute

LadyPenelope68 · 29/07/2017 17:54

Tacky! I'm a teacher and I've had several months of classes full of them, hate the things!!

Wonders71 · 29/07/2017 17:55

Horrible but what do I know i'm an old fogey.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 29/07/2017 17:57

When my girls wear them, I think they look cute Grin
