Can't decide whether to get one for my three year old dd

they are one of the chavviest things I've ever seen.

megletthesecond · 29/07/2017 16:17

Tacky.

But I caved in and dd looks rather cool in hers. She's a barefoot, shorts and t-shirt girl.

MargotLovedTom1 · 29/07/2017 16:17

Steady on Margaret - that would mean 80% of dd's school year will be up the duff at 15, and we live in a very nice area I'll have you know AngryWink.

TheNaze73 · 29/07/2017 16:18

I think they're cute.

Soubriquet · 29/07/2017 16:18

Tacky but my 4 year old likes them and she does look cute in it

batteriesgone · 29/07/2017 16:19

Tacky and hideous.

OddestSock · 29/07/2017 16:20

My daughters like them. They're 7 & 5. They have a couple each.

AccrualIntentions · 29/07/2017 16:20

Tacky and chavvy. If my child chose it for themselves I'd go along with it, but I wouldn't be putting one on her if bought by someone else.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/07/2017 16:20

Some charming people on this thread Hmm

Mrsknackered · 29/07/2017 16:21

@MargaretTwatyer I hope your DD falls pregnant before GCSE year so you feel like a right twat

Gonegonegone · 29/07/2017 16:22

They are naff. I'm just waiting for them to bring out a burberry version.

But if kids like them I don't see the harm. If my girl ever asks she can have one. I will cringe on the inside.

TartanDMs · 29/07/2017 16:22

Just an updated version of the Fergie bows we had in the 80s. I had a mint green one.

Sirzy · 29/07/2017 16:23

Awful!

It does show how fashions change though - if someone had one of them in their hair when I was at school they would have been laughed at for wearing it now they are the height of fashion for children apparently!

Bumdishcloths · 29/07/2017 16:23

Absolutely revolting and belong in the early 90s where they hailed from.

ragdoll700 · 29/07/2017 16:23

I think they are horrible and tacky but if either of my girls wanted one I'd let them have one. My older daughter age 5 hates them but she is not particularly girly but I can see my younger daughter 3 wanting one :)

HamishsMomma · 29/07/2017 16:25

Loath them and dds school banned them - however purchased them from Claire's with their pocket money

cuirderussie · 29/07/2017 16:26

Tacky but my daughter likes them and they're harmless.

WooWooSister · 29/07/2017 16:28

I didn't mind Fergie bows because they seemed to be doing something ie keeping a pony tail together. Jo Jo Bows just seem to stick on heads like poorly-made butterflies. They look tacky.

Oysterbabe · 29/07/2017 16:29

They're just a hair accessory, I struggle to be offended by them. DD is too small to show a desire for such things but if she wanted one she could have it.

ItWentInMyEye · 29/07/2017 16:29

Vile but my 7 year old DD has the rainbow one Envy she likes it so no harm done.

JacquesHammer · 29/07/2017 16:29

Oh yawn. Here we go with the "chavvy", "tacky" "common" shash.

Its totally tedious. And it is a bow. A bow.

MargaretTwatyer · 29/07/2017 16:30

Good job I've only got sons! It's that kind of person who wears them though. I would say only about 20% of DS's school wears them. And it's the same 20% whose kids are always in trouble and the parents are always rowing with each other. Generally I find the families whose kids wear them are a bit rough.

Twinkie1 · 29/07/2017 16:30

Chavtastic

callmehannahbaker · 29/07/2017 16:31

DD had 2 in for pride! She loves them :)

Yes. Fashion has no social significance or semantics and never has done. Suuuuure.
