'The arsehole bunch' would be a good, descriptive, name for the bows actually.

IdentifiesAsYoda · 01/08/2017 15:41

Oh I think they'd suit Boden to a tee. But they'd be in a "ditsy print" and cost a tenner

CarrieBradshaw85 · 01/08/2017 15:53

My niece wears these. I have no idea who Jo is and got a stern correcting when I called it a Jo Bow.

GinaFordCortina · 01/08/2017 16:01

Op they're massive stupid bows and on a tiny head they will look ridiculous. However wearing one does not make a 9 year old look like a chav it a delinquent .

Every time I see a girl with one of those on her head I get a distinct feeling she'll be pregnant before GCSEs. They're pretty awful.

You see the bows and you know which girls will be pushed in to sex before they're legally allowed? Speak to the police, I'm sure they'd find that a useful tool.

Oh and the poster who wished that^ idiot's daughter would get pregnant before her exams too, you're equally disgusting.

GinaFordCortina · 01/08/2017 16:03

hint: middle classes don't use words like 'chavvy' wink

Yeah "wink". The first time I heard the term it was th DM taking the piss out of poor "chavs", and it's regularly used on MN. As is 'common' which has been used through out the thread and is a more mc word for... you guessed it chav.

MaisyPops · 01/08/2017 16:07

It's not that it's a childish fad or kids expressing themselves... it's that it's not kids expressing themselves in a delightful tutu and hunter wellies and fairy wings... but it's kids expressing themselves with something that cost a couple of quid from a market stall so is accessible to the masses and therefore not expressing themselves in a middle-class approved way.
This all over.Grin

When it's a child expressing themselves by wearing mismatched patterned leggings and dress with fairy wings and contains at least 1 middle class class marker then it's acceptable because then it's 'embracing the child's creativity and individuality'.

But when it comes to kids expressing themselves with cheap and accessible hair accessories then that's really just a sign to snobby parents that Persephone couldn't possible have a play date with that child aged 5 because it's obvious that bow child won't be tutored for the 11+, eats from Aldi and will never pass their gcses. That's before you consider the fact that bow child will be busy sleeping with half the town at 15 whilst my darling is preparing for a career in medicine that they may or may not want but it looks good on me as a parent. It's so ghastly to think about that I need a sit down, a cup of Waitrose tea and Boden catalogue.

Rarely without being challenged, as on this thread.

Mrsknackered · 01/08/2017 18:18

@GinaFordCortina perhaps was a bit low but I didn't mean it in all seriousness. Just thought maybe she should consider how she'd feel if her daughter fell pregnant young after making such ludicrous comments

Rightgirlwrongplanet1 · 23/11/2019 14:59

I know this is 2017 but it came up on my google search. My opinion, FWIW?
Bad taste, lower class. Yuck!

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 23/11/2019 15:16

Haha at common, tacky etc. Like a little girl gives a shiny shit about that! Just get one OP.

BinkyBaa · 23/11/2019 15:26

They're tacky, but so are most things for kids. No different to a Disney princess clip in braid or a spiderman mask IMO.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 23/11/2019 15:55

I have a lovely friend, she really is a lovely lady and a great Mum BUT she puts a huge JoJo bow on her daughers head and she only has a petite little face too . It looks stupid (I won't ever ever tell her that, not my place)
