I bet most of the people getting frothy about jojo bows being called tacky actually have daughters who wear tutus with wellies and look decidedly middle class

I have a 10 year old MiniGoth who dresses all in black/grey. So not so much Grin

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/07/2017 20:42

A tutu , wellies and bow combination. The little girl looks lovely

Dd won't wear them such is her hatred of Professor Umbridge. Grin

No, mine wears her tutu on stage only Wink No wellies.

JoJo was also made famous, or should that be more famous by the reality show, dance moms. To whoever asked.

dotdotdotmustdash · 29/07/2017 20:50

I think they look fine, tacky but pretty. I'm glad my Dd18 isn't interested though!

They're certainly less tacky than my red polka-dot ra-ra skirt and yellow neon leg-warmers were!

CheerfulYank · 29/07/2017 20:55

Oh for heaven's sake. They're bows .

I get korker bows for my DD. Jojo bows aren't as much of a thing in my part of the States, which is funny as Jojo is American. I like her though. She looks like a child still, with her bows and sneakers and bright colors :)

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 29/07/2017 20:55

Dotdotdot but did said leg warmers and Ra Ra skirt caused you an underage pregnancy? 🤣

winglesspegasus · 29/07/2017 20:59

actually mine wore her tutu with baby biker boots or doc martens with her multicolored leggings/

twattymctwatterson · 29/07/2017 21:03

I wonder if people who call young children "common" or "chavvy" know how lacking in class they appear to be?

AccrualIntentions · 29/07/2017 21:07

I think it's different saying that something looks common or chavvy is different from saying a child is common or chavvy. Granted, some posters are conflating the two, but it's not always the case.

Ktown · 29/07/2017 21:13

Most kids like tat like this. It is part of being a child. I cannot imagine any of them thinking dressing in charcoal grey or taupe is a good idea.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/07/2017 21:14

I think it's different saying that something looks common or chavvy is different from saying a child is common or chavvy

You can barely fit a cigarette paper between that distinction and in a case where you are talking about the appearance of children it really does not absolve the posters who used those terms of being generally nasty.

HemanOrSheRa · 29/07/2017 21:17

How can you call a child 'common' Confused?

BarbaraOcumbungles · 29/07/2017 21:22

It isn't really a reflection on the child is it?

Oysterbabe · 29/07/2017 21:24

It isn't a reflection on anyone, it's a fucking bow.

reuset · 29/07/2017 21:25

Agree Lass

I wonder if people who call young children "common" or "chavvy" know how lacking in class they appear to be?

I'd say they have no idea at all.

mrsMmrsIMrsSSI · 29/07/2017 21:27

Anyone who's worrying about their Jojo wearing kids getting knocked up in Year 10, I had jibbets in my crocs and I had a baby in Year 12. The crocs were definitely responsible for the impregnation. Not my 'boyfriend' at the time removing the condom without my consent or knowledge.

Composing a mental list of classist and ignorant usernames so I can make sure I avoid their threads in future.

mrsMmrsIMrsSSI · 29/07/2017 21:29

*pregnancy. I don't know where impregnation came from ConfusedBlushHmm

HemanOrSheRa · 29/07/2017 21:33

It isn't a reflection on anyone, it's a fucking bow. Exactly Oyster. What does 'common' mean anyway? I probably am BTW. I have a white UPVC and everything Grin.

HemanOrSheRa · 29/07/2017 21:34

Oops. A white UPVC DOOR! GrinBlush.

BetterEatCheese · 29/07/2017 21:38

I like them - started making them for Dd, much cheaper and she doesn't care if they're the real deal

AngelaKardashian · 29/07/2017 21:40

God, threads like this remind me how disgusting some of you are.

In response to the actual OP, they're OTT and tacky which makes them perfect for kids. And I doubt it will be the cause of any teenage pregnancies Hmm

TinselTwins · 29/07/2017 21:44

I judge people who say Chav!

mummyrabbitpeppapig · 29/07/2017 21:45

So I can safely buy her one without fear of becoming a granny in a few years then.............?!!! 🤣😂

Phew!

HemanOrSheRa · 29/07/2017 21:52

Absolutely mummy. I wore ra ra skirts, leg warmers, pedal pushers, fingerless lacey gloves and hideous tops that we made from finger knitting Grin amongst other things. I didn't get pregnant until I was 32 Grin. Buy the hairbows. All of them.
