Oh look, here's my place. I'm just going to leave a little mark right here.

I think English Heritage have a secret hit squad and the CFN are currently being held in a cellar somewhere in Milton Keynes where a frightfully English senior officer (probably my MIL) interrogates them about the whereabouts of the arched window.

I'm going to say goodnight and I am certain that i am going to dream about this tonight.

The EKL thread is lovely. I lurked (may even have posted, can't remember).

The Maui thread was hilarious, the op was sooooo utterly unreasonable; there was at least one !MNHQ deletion message of "We've pulled this thread because Maui".

Cancel the check was a phrase bandied about because it was too late to cancel the check, but it had been the obvious thing to do if you only read the title/op. So a lot of people who had only read the title and op would pop up helpfully saying 'cancel the cheque', and the only way to cope with it was to join them in that inanity every so often. It caught on. As did Maui for a while.

This whole saga is amazing and I am addicted. On top of everything else it gave a link to the EKL story which I have seen referred to all over the place but never found. Double gold.

The main threads that stick out in my mind as being memorable were so sensational they turned out to be fake :( obviously not the case here, but it is so incredulous that someone would do that, you do think- you couldn't make this up!

Hopefully dearest watt doesn't have an awful hangover tomorrow from all that wine, and with her friend there isn't so afraid of the CFN- imagine being too afraid to go into your own garden

I just cannot believe how some people can be so arrogant/stupid/ignorant. How they can damage a beautiful listed building and think that it's all going to be OK.
