Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

My dad was a builder before retirement. I'm seeing my parents later so will regale him with this saga

I imagine he'll be WFT?!? about it all.

I have just wasted ages reading the second thread now I need to go food shopping. Have the council said when they are coming out?

CFN is already in a world of shit, but can you imagine if you woke up tomorrow morning to find all the rubble & stuff cleared? There won't be a shitpool deep enough in the universe!

I reckon we won't hear anything from CFN til Monday, probably gone away for the weekend to avoid the building work

Thankfully most of the enforcement for rectifying this will come from the council, in a way it's lucky it's listed as if not you would probably have had to take them to court yourself and bring a civil suit to prove it's your garden etc etc, the fact that they have damaged a listed building means it will all be sorted for you!

I'd definitely be using my garden lots and walking around smelling the flowers/feeding the birds/getting a suntan while they are stuck indoors in thier kitchen!!

I've said it once and I'll say it again, this thread is everything. I really need CFN to come home now!!!!!

Out of interest, why do buildings get listed? Just to preserve history?

Never mind karma, I've got ALL the Schadenfreude going here. I haven't much sympathy for the neighbours. They must have known they were taking the piss even if they missed the magic words listed building.
