CFN patio doors onto my private garden thread #3

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 12:22

Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

Sorry all the threads have different titles Confused

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me Grin )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

Ooh maybe the dirty bags are from work they've been doing internally that they don't want planning knowing about

Hereward1332 · 28/07/2017 15:54

the hypocrisy and self entitlement astounds me.

Do you know what hypocrisy means, because the example you gave isn't hypocritical. She doesn't want someone in her garden, but does not want to intrude into someone else's garden.

btw she hasn't been able to stare into their flat for years as they have only just moved in. hth.

Yamayo · 28/07/2017 15:54

Maryz that was the thread I was talking about!
Fascinating and oh so frustrating. I wish there had been a resolution.

Bluntness100 · 28/07/2017 15:54

I might sound like a horrible CFN but I work hard for my family and do everything I legally can to that end

What are you talking about. You said earlier you'd lay claim to someone's garden if you could. Please stop making this thread all about you and derailing it. If you want to talk about you and your virtues start your own thread.

kevstep · 28/07/2017 15:56

Ive missed most of the cricket and F1practice sessions and also gave up essential heavy duty gardening stuff, just to keep pace with this situation. Outshines 'owt that is on twitter!
Wattyyyy, fingers crossed for you getting a peaceful end to all of this!
btw ive only been on MN 24 hours Smile and hooked!

Can you report Barry and Julie as missing persons?

Mumsnut · 28/07/2017 15:59

Barry and Julie are brand new neighbours, NewDaddie. Presumably, the OP knew her old neighbours and they knew her, and she/they wouldn't have dreamed of abusing each others' privacy.

Barry and Julie, on the other hand, have shown themselves willing to break the law with impunity and grab what isn't theirs.

So either they are very, very stupid or very, very certain from experience of getting their own way. Have a think about why that might be.

Flisspaps · 28/07/2017 16:00

@TurnipCake your PARKLIFE comment hasn't had the praise it deserves GrinGrin

Buxtonstill · 28/07/2017 16:00

is Newdaddie the CFN?

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/07/2017 16:01

I'm very lazy, busy and entitled. Grin Anyone got time and inclination to precis the three threads, include the diagram and post it here?

I shall pay in Gin and Biscuit as per the MN contract.

what fucker linked to the kitchen in a passageway thread [furious]

There is no update, no solution; I've just wasted an hour of my life

That was me, another poster requested a link to it, I know there wasn't a solution but I think we can assume the OP didn't get her kitchen in the passageway.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 28/07/2017 16:02

It's not hypocrisy to not want the neighbours in her garden looking in at her. She bought the flat knowing that she had a private garden, if it was a shared garden she would have had the option not to buy the flat. The CFNs bought their flat knowing that somebody else's garden could overlook their flat, if being overlooked bothered them they had the option not to buy the flat. There was a crystal clear starting position, everybody got what they paid for, and now CFN are being Cheeky Fuckers and OP is not in the slightest bit hypocritical in objecting to it.

mistlethrush · 28/07/2017 16:02

Wattyyy - what rights do they have with regard to things like painting the windows? Are they required to give you notice or anything (and how do they actually manage to get there to do it at all - presumably they have to climb out of the window to do it and then wait until it's dry???)

SnickersWasAHorse · 28/07/2017 16:04

Piss off Newdaddie there's a good chap, grown ups are talking here.

I bet you claim your territory by manspreading.

IdentifiesAsASquirrel · 28/07/2017 16:04

Get a Goose for the garden. They're fiercely protective and very scary

Pigflewpast · 28/07/2017 16:04

Oh ud saved that link for after this ends (sob). Thanks, I'll not read it now as that would drive me mental

Lweji · 28/07/2017 16:05

Anyone know what newdaddie is actually on about

Don't know. Maybe on glue?

Pigflewpast · 28/07/2017 16:05

Shadow666 · 28/07/2017 16:06

I think you should go and do some naked yoga in your garden. 🤸‍♀️

Veronicat · 28/07/2017 16:06

Maybe Barry and Julie are building a basement room complete with sauna and the bags are the rubble. Would tie in the extractor fan. Puts Miss Marple hat on

Vango · 28/07/2017 16:06

newdaddie If you're buying a flat and an Estate Agent gives you a choice of two in the same block, let's say

Grade II listed 1-bed flat, £250K

Or

Grade II listed one-bed flat with courtyard garden £275k

would a regular person's first thought be "I'll go for the cheaper option and knock a door in the wall that has an adjacent garden"? Confused
