CFN patio doors onto my private garden thread #3

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 12:22

Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

Sorry all the threads have different titles Confused

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me Grin )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

JustDontGetItAtAll different. It's cheeky fucker high season EVERYWHERE so watch out. Any of us could discover we have our very own cheekyfuckerzilla just waiting to spring...

Msqueen33 · 28/07/2017 15:18

Glad you've got someone coming around. I wouldn't want to see them either in case they're just as unreasonable in person.

Vango · 28/07/2017 15:18

newdaddie the OP found herself yesterday in a situation that is not of her making and is resolving it through the appropriate channels. If she doesn't want to speak to her neighbours she doesn't have to. Not all of us relish confrontation (and it's hard to imagine that any conversation in this situation would be polite and pleasant!).

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 28/07/2017 15:19

So it sounds like it's the cheeky Fucking builders who have been there?

Lostinaseaofbubbles · 28/07/2017 15:19

I've not posted till now but newdaddie what are you on about? The OP has done nothing with cable ties (as far as she's said). She's done absolutely wrong and absolutely everything by the book.

I'd be angling my sofa so I could keep half an eye on the garden without being seen myself if I was in OP's shoes.

I'm so glad you have a friend coming to stay OP. I can't believe the audacity of the CFN (or newdaddie)

ShatnersWig · 28/07/2017 15:20

Oh, and newdaddie your posting is really rich coming from someone who on a thread of their own says they hate confrontation themselves.

horsefeathers · 28/07/2017 15:20

newdaddie, do you wilfully misinterpret situations all the time in real life as well? OP hasn't actually done anything Tom Cruiselike with cable ties. She's acted sensibly throughout. There's been a bit of joking about blocking the doors but she's done nothing of the sort. And of course she's not eager for a confrontation with people whose actions so far have been totally unreasonable. She's allowed to wonder what's going on and be concerned without wanting to antagonise them by openly gawping.

For that matter, her situation has got nothing to do with the one you were on about in the first thread, where you reclaimed access to a communal garden that had been illegally blocked by downstairs neighbours. That's nothing like trying to steal access to someone's private garden that is not yours in any way, which is what CFN are doing and what you said you'd consider doing in an unlisted building.

It's like you're reading a subtly different thread from everyone else, and I can't figure out whether it's purposeful goadiness or just your unique newdaddie filter on the world.

MrsMozart · 28/07/2017 15:21

OP glad you'll have your friend with you tonight. Stay safe lass.

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 15:21

And to the pp no the CFN acronym has been adopted from another thread (which I eventually cottoned on to ha)

I hope it gets sorted out quickly now for you.

Most people are nice.
Hopefully Barry and Julie are nice and this was just a big mistake and you can move on when they put it right.

FilledSoda · 28/07/2017 15:22

i'd be in no rush to speak to them at all but if it's unavoidable try to wait for your friend , so there is a witness.

Foreverhopeful22 · 28/07/2017 15:22

OP don't go round there. Don't confront them but likewise DO NOT BE AFFRAID TO USE YOUR GARDEN.

I'm pleased a friend is coming over.

Although I wish (like many mumsnettters do) that I was your friend.

FUNM · 28/07/2017 15:23

newdaddie CFP :) P for Poster

Changebagsandgladrags · 28/07/2017 15:23

I feel sorry for them if they are clueless. This is going to cost a fortune.

Gemini69 · 28/07/2017 15:23

OP... I thank you please take a bow... this has been the most part 3 entertaining thread since WORKzilla ... ooh I do love a happy ending Flowers

RainyDayBear · 28/07/2017 15:23

I think you're doing right to stay out of their way OP. Glad you've got someone with you tonight too, I can imagine how unnerving it must be!

Lynnm63 · 28/07/2017 15:23

Newdaddie if you don't like this thread feel free to leave. It's perfectly acceptable to not want confrontation with neighbours or builders. CFN are going to be £1000's out of pocket and op doesn't know if they're a clueless young couple or an Armenian body builder no offence meant to Armenians or body builders, I've watched too much bad American tv

Lostinaseaofbubbles · 28/07/2017 15:23

I must be too invested in this thread...

I don't think newdaddie ever specified about the garden - I think that was someone else who was telling him what expropriated means. I don't think newdaddie ever actually mentioned what he "expropriated"...

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 28/07/2017 15:25

Yes sounds like the builders have been back, the extractor fan will be to dry off the plaster around the crap cheap plastic nice new doors they've put in. They want them looking nice before they have to rip them out again photograph them to put on their website for potential new customers to see their handiwork.

EvelynWardrobe · 28/07/2017 15:26

newdaddie, you don't seemed to have grasped the tone of this thread very well at all.
Nobody is impressed with your 'I've got bigger balls than everyone else, and I'll show you what a bastard I can be' guff. It's the pissing contest equivalent of someone thinking they're in some way radical because they wear Angry Birds socks.
It's all a bit David Brent.

WoofWoofMooWoof · 28/07/2017 15:26

Perhaps there was some sort of medieval plague/germs hidden in the brickwork (it's been known to happen), and they're all infected. Now the whole place has to be decontaminated. One can hope lol Grin.

Goingtobeawesome · 28/07/2017 15:27

The cheek of it. Daddy-whatever is criticising someone for moving furniture when he stole land.

inneedofchocolate · 28/07/2017 15:27

It must be hard for the op to not be constantly checking for CFN when she has to keep us lot up-to-date! And we thank her for it! X

jmh740 · 28/07/2017 15:27

I'm meant to be packing for ds to go to cub camp in 2 hours but can't drag myself away from this thread. Please can someone give a summary of what the planning people have done today or ds will miss his camp!

wotabastard · 28/07/2017 15:28

newdaddie = David Brent!

hahahahahahaha
