CFN patio doors onto my private garden thread #3

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 12:22

Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

Sorry all the threads have different titles Confused

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me Grin )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

If they do come round try and record it x

MiniCooperLover · 28/07/2017 15:09

Sounds like builders could be back?

laura1206 · 28/07/2017 15:09

Sorry about the 'x'!

newdaddie · 28/07/2017 15:09

I tried do hard not to be that contrary poster, for 1500 posts I didn't dissent. I wanted to be part of the team. But.

This.

I've shifted my sofa round a bit so I can see out into the garden but they can't see me.

This. I absolutely cannot stand. I hate people who throw rocks and hide their hands.

Nasty.

OP you did nothing wrong. You protected and enforced your property rights. Your actions are easily worth £10-50k in preventing loss of your property value. You would have been silly not to contact planning. Any sensible person would realise you did what you had to do. Barry and Julie obviously aren't the brightest tools in the box but I bet they're getting smart quick now. They would have to be borderline sociopathic morons to make the situation worse buy harassing/attacking you.

By all means stay out of their way and let the solicitors and authorities do their job. But don't go all Tom Cruise mission impossible with the cable ties one minute and Rowan Atkinson cowering and peeping from behind your sofa as soon as the CFNs arrive.

Ugh

happystrummer · 28/07/2017 15:10

OOh some light reading while we are awaiting further updates

Sounds like builders could be back? Hopefully they don't take the paperwork the planning lady put through the door?

SprinkleOfInsanity · 28/07/2017 15:11

Shock things have progressed nicely since I last check in this morning! I hope they are decent people, and don't cause you any grief OP.

Theresnonamesleft · 28/07/2017 15:11

I'm another one in the don't go round camp. They know they have fucked up. They will be aware this is going to cost lots for their fuck up, but will be looking to blame anyone. You go round and they will be hostile. They aren't going to invite op in for a cuppa and have a laugh over this.

Slimthistime · 28/07/2017 15:12

newdaddie, I don't know if you are being deliberately obtuse or a GF or what but you seem to misunderstand everything the OP says.

she can angle her sofa as she wishes. She is not hiding from anyone.

JustDontGetItAtAll · 28/07/2017 15:12

Can I just ask, with the 'CFN' does this mean this is the same OP as the CFNE Parking Thread? Or a different Cheeky Fucker Neighbour entirely?

wotabastard · 28/07/2017 15:14

newdaddie

ugh

Grin
isambardo · 28/07/2017 15:15

JustDont it's a different CFN. I at least I hope it is! 😂

Unlikelyfarmerswife · 28/07/2017 15:15

Amazing!

wotabastard · 28/07/2017 15:15

she can do what she bloody well likes with her sofa.

festivefucker · 28/07/2017 15:15

Newdaddie you are being a gf op is doing neither of the things you suggest , keeping herself safe is the most sensible thing here, you know nothing of her cfn they could be aggressive.
Easy to pass judgement from the safety of your keyboard.

Good job this isn't the same at all then isn't it?

The OP has spoken to the builders so they know who called planning.
It is her garden.
There is no hiding.

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 15:16

Oh newdaddie piss off. This isn't a film, it's my actual life. As a female alone in a flat with potentially ANYONE walking into my private garden I think I have a right to be a bit concerned and I'll react how I bloody well like. I got out there in my own time.

This has been a welcome break from the most heinously boring day at work.

Please go round there OP!

ShatnersWig · 28/07/2017 15:16

newdaddie FFS.

ColourfulOrangex · 28/07/2017 15:17

I'm glad your friend is coming round OP

wowfudge · 28/07/2017 15:17

Yes - that's what it means @JustDontGetItAtAll.

The builders have been asked to return everything they cleared up/took.away. That's what's outside CFN's door.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 28/07/2017 15:17

"throw rocks and hide their hands"??

What a load of bollocks. The OP is quite right to avoid confrontation.
Neither has she done any Tom Cruise business with cable ties, nor interfered with their door in any way.

TheEricaOlthwaiteGang · 28/07/2017 15:17

I would not be looking to speak to the neighbours at this point. I would be looking for legal/insurance advice to make sure I was protected should they try to claim rights over the garden space or should their dodgy building work cause my property any damage.

The neighbours are either (a) unaware and naive or (b) sociopathic, conniving fuckers who just do what they want and sod the consequences. If (a) hopefully they will have had a wake up call and come and apologise with promises to make good. If (b) it could get nasty so best to play it canny, stay out of their way and get your legal ducks in a row.

LazyDailyMailJournos · 28/07/2017 15:18

Erm, sanctimonious much? How exactly has OP done anything like 'throw rocks'? The neighbours have bust through into her garden, covering her stuff with dust and builder's crap and broken laws into the bargain. She's - entirely reasonably - phoned the planners and had them round to look at it, and is now watching to see what happens with HER garden. If you're so bothered by the thread and feel unable to be 'part of the team' then hide it and click on something else.

HTH.
