Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

I'd be on a deck chair in MY garden facing the new ugly doors with my big bucket of popcorn and a bottle of wine

EvelynWardrobe - me too! I have caught up on this whole thing this afternoon, and now almost not wanting to leave my desk in case I miss anything!

How big is your garden, OP? Are there rules about people planting shribs etc in front of people's windows? I'd worry about that if I owned one of the non-garden flats.

Hope you're ok, OP. I'd consider getting a friend round to sit in with you in case the CFNs kick off. They have no right to, of course, but they might.

Good luck OP, it's very easy for us to say get around there but it depends on how you feel about it. I would go out though if they went into the garden, there would never be a better time to sort it out.

Sorry everyone it's not the most exciting update!

They'd put on some kind of extractor fan which I heard go off. I went out the back to have a look eventually and couldn't see anything. So went out the front and there are loads of dirty looking bags/ sheet coverings just dumped at CFN front door???

It's now deadly silent.

I called planning lady, couldn't get through to her directly as she was in a meeting, but spoke with some one else. Because I can't be sure they are there any more or who it even was in the first place I don't think they are going to come out again. They said if it was CFN they will have seen the notice. And they (planning) will be getting in touch with builders separately thanks to the details I gave them.
