Okay I thought I'd start this for when they inevitably show their faces!!

Sorry all the threads have different titles Confused

I have a slight update - I managed to catch the nice neighbour at the other side (I think he'd heard the commotion and was loitering about waiting for me Grin )

He was gobsmacked! Apparently he's lived here for thirty years and has never heard anything like it. I told him I'd keep him updated and he asked if i wanted to come in for a cup of tea, I politely declined hahahah. Glad I now have a nice normal neighbour on my side!

Go OP - you stepped in early and there are other problems (trespass, etc). Sad that the demolition of an historic mews house in Glasgow mentioned in Saga2 was never prevented and the couple who'd done it just got retrospective planning permission. Happens too often - and it's not just interesting and lovely buildings but interesting and lovely land.

Pacing noises

ShockShockShock

BoneyBackJefferson · 28/07/2017 14:11

ItsAllGoingToBeFine

Plus the window was probably a fire exit....

Not convinced of this, how would a fire exit to an enclosed space with no exit help?

Treble28 · 28/07/2017 14:11

I agree with PP to sort Legal side asap and get 100% clarification in writing that the garden is yours and access has not been granted preferably before CFN gets back. It should have all been dealt with at the time of purchase but sometimes these things get overlooked (like my friends who bought a house with stunning views only to find 12 months on that planning has been granted in front of them for a huge house - they knew nothing and are now trying to pursue their Solicitors who missed this "minor" detail).

NotLachsAgainMother · 28/07/2017 14:12

There's pacing noises.

I can't bear the suspense Grin

DartmoorDoughnut · 28/07/2017 14:12

I demand you go and sit in your garden asap!

I'm stuck on 'holiday' with a bored out of his mind toddler and a baby who has just learned to crawl in a totally unsafe for crawling babies house, a DH who has to do some work and two bored dogs who haven't had a walk thanks to the rain ... your thread may be the only thing keeping me sane!

sodabreadjam · 28/07/2017 14:12

I can totally believe this story having come across other entitled arseholes.

A colleague bought a flat in a brand new block. The builders made it clear that everyone had their flat and one dedicated parking space and that was all - no private or communal gardens and no clothes drying area etc. Everyone moved in and one couple immediately drilled into the concrete outside the flats and put up a rotary airer for the washing. Nice try! Builders were contacted and it was taken down.

And then my colleague came back from work one day to find clouds of steam in the communal stairwell. The same couple had drilled a vent for their tumble drier from their flat into the stairwell. This was also removed. I wonder why they thought no-one would object to walking through steam and having water run down the walls of the stairs.

I think some people buy a place that doesn't quite suit their needs and then try to make it into their idea of perfect regardless of the impact on others - or the law.

Funko · 28/07/2017 14:12

I knew I should have gone with Glenda ...

SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/07/2017 14:13

blueskyinmarch · 28/07/2017 14:13

The suspense is thrilling!

Wattyyyy · 28/07/2017 14:14

Oh god I think it's them I just heard a massive bang which I'm sure came from their side.

I'm literally hiding in my flat, this is ridiculous, I need to have a Wine and stop being pathetic!

Don't be scared to use your own garden.

It's not you fault or problem

AHobbyaweek · 28/07/2017 14:15

Don't be scared. It is their problem and their fault. You have only stuck up for yourself.

Tell Barry and Julie to disappear out for a few more hours as I have to go out too and NOTHING is given permission to happen in my absence!

Msqueen33 · 28/07/2017 14:16

Oh god this is fantastic if they're home. For my own selfish sake I hope they're outrageous, cheeky bastards and come round for more entertainment for me.

blueskyinmarch · 28/07/2017 14:16

I dare you to go and set up a deck chair staring right into their house through the windows of their illegal doors?

Funko · 28/07/2017 14:16

Ear/glass/wall now!

When they read that notice I'm sure there will be tense words! Grin

MaximaDeWit · 28/07/2017 14:16

OP, I don't blame you for hiding. Don't feel you must confront them for the sake of MN if it doesn't feel right. Important you don't put yourself at any risk.

Just keep reminding yourself that you are 100% in the right here.

ATurnipOfMyOwn · 28/07/2017 14:16

I tried telling my DH about this thread but he's just not interested

MrsPussinBoots · 28/07/2017 14:17

Oh god I need to take DD swimming but now CFNs are home?! Talk about bad timing. Stay strong OP

Lweji · 28/07/2017 14:17

Maybe you could get your other neighbour to have some drinks with you in the garden.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 28/07/2017 14:18

Where's your friend with the small child that was coming round? Wait till they're there and let the small child out to ask CFNs 'Why did you put a big door in Auntie Wattyyyys garden wall?'

FridgeCut · 28/07/2017 14:18

Perhaps a little nude sunbathing? Might put them off their designs on shared access and an extra good view..

Spookle · 28/07/2017 14:18

Just caught up and so relieved and pleased for you on the result so far Wattyyyy. I hope that it is all resolved very quickly with minimum disruption to yourself and your home.

Thank you to everyone for the accolades re: diagram Blush Flowers Will repost for any newcomers to this thread.
