Couldn't remember the title of the last one so thought that'd do!

No sign of them at all, went out and looked through and all the lights are off, definitely not in. WTF IS GOING ON????

I heard of a building in the ares end of nowhere in Scotland which was listed, and had a massive crack in one wall. People bought it, had the crack mended using specialists and correct materials, Historic Scotland turned up and insisted that the crack had been there since before it was listed, and had to be put back Shock.

OTOH, they were very helpful when a bypass was being built very close to an A* listed church with some fabulous Burne-Jones windows - hundreds of hours of meetings between the church people, the architects, the highways people and Historic Scotland got the windows removed and taken away to be cleaned, restored and stored safely while the bypass was built, then put back afterwards. Cost rather a lot of money, but tbf the bypass was worth it.

HeyBigSpender · 28/07/2017 10:04

Arghhhh come on planning department lady!

Wishfulmakeupping · 28/07/2017 10:04

Yes please let planning officer arrive just as CFN and builders are doing their finishing touches to it all- that would be dream scenario

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 28/07/2017 10:05

The neighbours haven't been in since yesterday?

FeralBeryl · 28/07/2017 10:05

It's great that planning are so on the ball - hopefully this means they'll be able to contact the cowboy builder and maybe salvage some/any of the original lovely bricks Sad although most will be smashed probably.

Half of our garden was sold (many years before we arrived) to a property diagonally behind us. I gaze longingly murderously out the back window at it but this thread shows me all I need to do is remove the fence and park my lardy on their lawn
TheMaddHugger · 28/07/2017 10:06

dingdongdigeridoo ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) hope you feel better soon

Greypaw · 28/07/2017 10:07

If Greypaw is right, then the windows would not have had the builders' sticker on to start with, the one that they then removed in panic when the OP explained the situation

They left the stickers on to appear as plausible, trusted builders rather than priceless antiques thieves. You mark my words, the "planning officer" will turn out to be Lovejoy.

MinisWin · 28/07/2017 10:07

MyVisions I know EXACTLY where you are talking about!! Would love to know which the house with the crack is too.

Weloveoptimus · 28/07/2017 10:08

Ooh I'm pacing about abit with excitement!
Through next doors living room and back out through kitchen.

TattyCat · 28/07/2017 10:09

Probably CFN will turn up whilst the planning people are there and be aghast that Op is daring to use their lovely new garden... Hmm

wowfudge · 28/07/2017 10:10

Every time I come back to this thread there are another ten pages to catch up on!

I am wondering if the CFNs are a couple who have gone on honeymoon/holiday and some well-meaning, but stupid, relative has decided to give them the wedding present of doors to their lovely garden as they can't afford it themselves. Could you imagine?

CSLG · 28/07/2017 10:11

Bet the planning people are there now

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 28/07/2017 10:11

It's useful that Planning can only access the site via the OP's flat so that OP has valid reason for being right there taking notes and possibly streaming on FACEBOOK live

prettybird · 28/07/2017 10:11

Just described this CFN sage to dh and he, like me, can't get his head around why some people are so stupid and entitled. Shock

not placemarking to get the thread on to my "Threads I'm on" rather than just "Threads I'm watching" and also any potential selection message, oh no, not all

FunSizedNinja · 28/07/2017 10:11

A live thread! The suspense! I absolutely do not have tea and biscuits awaiting update....

BluePancakes · 28/07/2017 10:11

Thanks DadDadDad , RadioGaGoo and InvisibleLlama , I'll look into all that. I'm not converting the garage, or changing it's use storage just want to make access easier.

Smilingthru · 28/07/2017 10:12

Oh my goodness!! I can't wait to here what planning people say!!! X

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 28/07/2017 10:12

The owners aren't there because they bought the flat at an auction, filmed by Homes Under The Hammer and in a few months time we shall all be able to watch Martin putting his head to one side with a concerned/incredulous look, asking the owners 'But didn't you read the legal pack? That's a big HUTH no-no' . Of course he'll be having to do the interview from PRISON, for 'tis where neighbours shall be.
