Couldn't remember the title of the last one so thought that'd do!

No sign of them at all, went out and looked through and all the lights are off, definitely not in. WTF IS GOING ON????

For those saying just use bookmark, some people are place marking to get any potential deletion message.

I wouldn't do that though.

Msqueen33 · 28/07/2017 09:29

Oh this is just brilliant

CaveMum · 28/07/2017 09:29

Hurry up Planning Person, I've got to take DD swimming in an hour!

Rachel0Greep · 28/07/2017 09:31

Just wishing you all the best OP. It's a very stressful situation, by the sound of it. I hope everything gets put to rights ASAP.

BluePancakes · 28/07/2017 09:32

As there's so many knowledgeable people here waiting, I thought I'd ask a question: My garage is at the bottom of my garden. I was thinking of putting a door and window in the side so I could walk in from my garden, rather than having to exit and then go through the garage-door. It hadn't even occurred to me that I might need PP for this - would I?
There's no change of use, no listed building (only 15years old on new-ish estate). I had a quick google last night, but I could only find if you wanted either change of use, or to remove the large garage door altogether, rather than just adding another person-door on the side, which makes me think 'not' but I don't know for sure.
Anyone know the answer??

Nope, absolutely not placemarking at all

Hope it goes well with the planners OP!

(I wonder if there'll be a reverse AIBU on this one Grin - 'AIBU to try and take over my neighbour's garden because waaah waaah waaah'

Venusflytwat · 28/07/2017 09:35

I'm just staggered that they've done this.

After planning have been round I'd be inclined to go the padlocked bike chain round the door handles from outside and massive trough of bamboo immediately in front of doors route until they are forced to restore it.

wictional · 28/07/2017 09:37

Our local council has approved plans to build houses in ice age woodland in a UNESCO world heritage site, despite our objections. They then approved plans to make said houses bigger, again despite our objections and the fact that we risk losing our WHS status by doing so.

I do hope your council are better - they sound it already! I await the update with anticipation Grin

Another one not place marking! Rtt last night, was Shock at the cfn!

Greypaw · 28/07/2017 09:40

MAYBE what happened is that the builders saw the flat on Rightmove when it was still listed on there, clocked that it has a window worth millions of pounds, and broke in while the CFN are on holiday to STEAL THE WINDOW leaving some naff plastic French doors for comedy purposes Hmm

Msqueen33 · 28/07/2017 09:41

@Oldbutstillgotit Pilates have nothing on this thread!

Pigeonpost · 28/07/2017 09:43

How on earth are they going to reinstate the old window/brickwork? It'll cost a fortune and never look quite the same. I can't quite get my head round it, surely no-one is that stupid to buy a flat in a listed building, and instantly trash one of the the features of that listed property to gain access to a garden which they have no right of access to. How can they possibly explain their way out of that? I hope they get slapped with a huge fine. Presumably it will affect the re-sale value of their flat. Hopefully it won't affect yours OP??

liquidrevolution · 28/07/2017 09:44

I work as building archaeologist. Make sure the planning officer is liaising with historic england and the conservation officers. Some councils can be a tad useless unless pushed. Make sure you push for like for like replacement. The planners should be concerned about precedent as if they allow the plastic frame then others may want to change theirs. The replacement wont be the same as the original though. I expect the window structure has bee dumped by the builders but if it is there it may be partially reused. Please keep any bricks if they are in your garden it will help the restoration work. Any questions pm me!

This is my 4th attempt at posting since 2pm yesterday!

IloveBanff · 28/07/2017 09:46

Yes Pigeonpost it is baffling. The structural integrity of the entire building may have been affected too, which is a huge worry. Sad

Crumbelina · 28/07/2017 09:46

As the builders have smashed the original bricks to pieces it could be quite tricky to match the original ones. We're currently adding an extension to a Victorian house (with full planning) and we need to source matching bricks. They need to be imperial sized (not metric), will probably be handmade and are likely to cost almost £2 a brick before delivery. Another company has a lead time of 6 months(!) for their handmade bricks.

Sorry, that's quite boring, but it shows how tricky things could get.

Omg can you imagine if CFN's and the builders turned up to you all in the garden?!?!?! GrinGrinGrin

I can't take the suspense anymore !!!!

JaneEyre70 · 28/07/2017 09:48

I think the fact that they're coming out so quickly says how potentially serious the neighbours actions have been. Any builder worthy of their name would have known straight away that any work in a listed building would need planning permission, hence the dodgy outfit from miles away. I really hope that they are made to return in to the original at great expense. Is there any sign of the window they took out?
