Couldn't remember the title of the last one so thought that'd do!

No sign of them at all, went out and looked through and all the lights are off, definitely not in. WTF IS GOING ON????

Oh to be a fly on the wall when planning catches up with them.

Wattyyyy · 27/07/2017 21:57

Right they must have gone away for the night as there's no sign. Or they're in the pub drowning their sorrows.

There's been loads of questions, I'll try to answer, sorry if I miss some!

Yes my garden is all grass (so I could easily put some flowers massive trees where their new doors are.

I wonder if I'd actually had plants or whatever there what they would have done? They would have been completely ruined.

I can't believe they didn't even have the decency to put a note through the door or anything.

No, I don't actually know who they are, I don't think they've been staying there every night due to the work/ there's been painting and other NORMAL stuff going on too.

They are probably expecting me to be out tomorrow as I normally leave at 7.30 for work.

The builders have left random bags of stuff and materials which I assume they will come back to collect. Or maybe they'll cut their losses.

I will be waiting Grin

Why do people placemark??? Just 'watch' the thread and use the bookmark function.

Diel · 27/07/2017 21:58

Who does this? Shamelessly placemarking and hoping for a smooth resolution op

Debswilltravel · 27/07/2017 21:58

I've been a lurker for ages but had to reset my password to join this thread

Blimey OP. I can't believe the gall of CFN. I hope you're ok. Maybe their staying away till late so they don't have to deal with your wrath!

MiddleClassProblem · 27/07/2017 21:58

Because then I know where I came in...

MaidOfStars · 27/07/2017 21:58

I think you could legitimately chain up their doors under the guise of 'security/you know what insurance companies are like' etc.

Miserylovescompany2 · 27/07/2017 21:59

@Wattyyyy how big is your garden? Please - just so I can adjust my mental imaging :)

SabineUndine · 27/07/2017 21:59

So they know where to start reading from.

MyOtherProfile · 27/07/2017 22:00

Wow! I read the original post earlier today, have just come back and found it has really moved on!
We could have a little sing song round a campfire in your garden OP, while we wait for the neighbours to come back.

MaidOfStars · 27/07/2017 22:00

MiddleClass That's what 'bookmark' does!

Flowersinyourhair · 27/07/2017 22:01

Actually cancelling all plans for the weekend to watch this thread, might even ring in sick tomorrow . Seriously though OP , hope you are ok xx

Greyponcho · 27/07/2017 22:02

Is anyone else wondering if the shady builders are sat somewhere fuming that they put the patio doors in the Smiths house and not at Jones, while the Jones' new build house now has a classy vintage window installed?
i.e. Just reeeeeallly cocked up two work orders?
Wink

LilaoftheGreenwood · 27/07/2017 22:02

This is bringing back awful memories of our old NDN. She used to wibble on about how our outhouse (lean-to thing built onto the side built by previous owners 40 years earlier) was "on their boundary". No idea to this day whether it was true or not but I always just said "Oh really?" and changed the subject. She used to say all kinds of shit so I just filed it under not important - it certainly wasn't visibly on their land or anything. I presume you'd need to appoint a party wall person or something to figure it out.

Then one day, literally about about a day after we'd had the estate agent round to put the house on the market (we were splitting up so not the happiest time), she comes round in the evening and standing on my doorstep announces they want to build an extension so they're going to have to knock our outhouse down Shock and her husband and two of his friends will come round and do it next weekend Shock Shock. My jaw was on the ground. I honestly think she thought she was being really helpful, she kept saying "you won't have to do a thing".

We told her we'd actually just put the house on the market thinking surely she'll just take it up with the new owners, surely she can't expect us to take this bald assertion on trust, but she made the last few months we were there a total misery trying all this wheeler dealer stuff to get us to agree to let her knock a bit of our house down!

I can't remember now whether we sent her a solicitors' letter to get her to fucking desist or whether we just ignored all her shit and kept our heads down and moved. But it was absolutely bloody astounding, her entitlement and bonkersness and inability to perceive that other people had opinions differing from her own, it really was. Some people just live in an entirely different world.

Oh and we did flag this with the buyers btw and the NDN extension is up now so she got her way in the end - kind of sad, I liked that little outhouse.

Longest place mark ever

ShotsFired · 27/07/2017 22:02

Am now wondering if the cheap plastic doors are temporary and cfn are planning "proper" ones to be more in keeping?

Regardless of the fact it isn't even their garden of course...

MOIST · 27/07/2017 22:03

Truly bonkers. and not pulling up a chair to rubberneck at all

Boynamedsue · 27/07/2017 22:03

Can't believe the cheeky fuckery of some people. Hope it goes well tomorrow op.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/07/2017 22:03

Doesn't work on my mobile,I've tried!

Doublemint · 27/07/2017 22:03

Im just popping by to say op- your neighbours are either ignorant or arrogant or a bit of both. Good luck.

Also I too have the day off tomorrow and literally will be planning my morning around developments on this thread.

Lastly who is @TheMaddHugger ??? How long has the mysterious hugger of threads been a MN thing? It's a little bit odd. It's a little bit awesome. It's very MN though.

Wattyyyy · 27/07/2017 22:04

The gardens aren't massive but there's enough room for a small paddling pool, swing and my own bench/ chairs and brolly - just about! I've also got a nice modern water feature thing which was a moving in present - it has a thick layer of dust too - nothing has escaped it Shock

It must have blown over into the other neighbours gardens too. I'm going to pop round tomorrow and see if they can shed any light.
