Parking wars - on my own drive !

I know the rules, diagram is attached. 😉

I'm on half days this week and have just got home to find a car in my driveway. As we are a corner house we have two driveways, big enough for one car each. Parking is really tight around here and permit only too. Opposite us is 8 terraced houses with no allocated parking, so quite often they either park in their garages or in the handful or visitor bays opposite my place but in front of theirs. My front drive is VERY clearly my driveway.

Cheeky Fucker Neighbour (CFN) runs a business from home which involves a lot of clients coming and going from her house throughout the day (pet groomer) and he employs two people to help.

I came home today to find a car in my drive which was not DHs. So I park down the side (pink section) of the house on the road where neighbours park their cars. I go and knock on several doors to find out who it belongs too, turns out it's one of the employees who is staying for a little while longer (P/T). "But I'll only be another hour, so I'll move it then." I reply "No, move it now please as I have to unload my car." Person refuses and I end up leaving telling them to move it within 30 minutes.

That was an hour ago and when I knock on the door there is no answer.

My next door neighbour has just told me that this car is on either my front drive or rear drive each morning ! When he questioned them about it, apparently CFN has said it's OK for them to park there and they have cleared it with us. No they bloody haven't!

Thing is this went on last year but after words it sooner stopped but obviously they are doing it again.

I'm sat here glaring out my front window waiting for the fucker to move his car then we will have words. I would block it in, but the road is only wide enough for one car so would block the road.

Your husband told you to move them.....LTB!!!!

Lweji · 26/07/2017 17:34

Your beef is with the business owner for lying, not the parker. They were told it was ok to park there.

They were asked to move and they refused.

AtHomeDadGlos · 26/07/2017 17:35

If they've just gone then smash a window, pull up the handbrake and push it off. Then pay for the window.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/07/2017 17:37

Do you know anyone who could tow it ?

TroelsLovesSquinkies · 26/07/2017 17:38

Get the business phone number and post it on gumtree as a 24 hour good time, party girl, cheap rates, ad. That phone will ring all hours of the night. That and some locking drop bollards would be good. Use them toll they all get the message.

Rossigigi · 26/07/2017 17:40

OP I am raging for you. What a cheeky f**r!!!

Sprinklestar · 26/07/2017 17:40

Report it as abandoned and get it towed. They won't mess with you again.

DownstairsMixUp · 26/07/2017 17:41

I would phone and say it's been abandoned if you really think they've left the car there overnight. That's just taking it too far now.

SoPassRemarkable · 26/07/2017 17:42

I can't believe they've left it in your drive! What if they don't come back for days? Why should you have to put up with your drive being used for any length of time?

Bet CFN thinks she's taught OP a lesson by inconviencing her for even longer. I would be livid.

DownstairsMixUp · 26/07/2017 17:42

Or like troels says get the business number and type it into as many call back websites as possible, register them in plenty of ppi websites. They won't ever hear the end of it. Grin

gingergenius · 26/07/2017 17:43

Has to be an abandoned for a specified amount of time (3 weeks) and also not taxed iirc???

Sprinklestar · 26/07/2017 17:43

Another thought. Can you push it off your drive? I'm sure it would get towed quickly enough if it was blocking the road...

AdalindSchade · 26/07/2017 17:44

Have you reported it as abandoned?

Woobeedoo · 26/07/2017 17:45

If CFN has taken employee home will they be creeping back in the dead of night to retrieve their car?

KitKat1985 · 26/07/2017 17:46

I think you should tow it off the drive and dump it somewhere nearby it's going to get a ticket.

KickAssAngel · 26/07/2017 17:47

I'd put a note through the door thanking them for a free gift of a car. Unless they move it within the next xx hours/minutes/seconds you'll assume it is now permanently yours as it is on your private property.

weddingZ · 26/07/2017 17:48

I'm late to this. I don't think I've read a thread before where they refused to move! Unbelievable!!

JustDontGetItAtAll · 26/07/2017 17:50

So they've possibly gone home and LEFT the car on your drive?!?!?!?! ShockShockShockShockShockShockShock

WineAndTiramisu · 26/07/2017 17:51

Get a bollard installed in the morning, if their car isn't removed by then, well tough, you've gone on holiday haven't you? Grin

ColourfulOrangex · 26/07/2017 17:51

What cheeky gits! Cheeky enough parking on your drive but plain rude to not move it when asked

pissedglitter · 26/07/2017 17:52

I can't believe the fucking cheek of these bastards Shock

Put the bollard back up before you go to work tomorrow

pinkyredrose · 26/07/2017 17:52

Are they still parked there?

N0tNowBernard · 26/07/2017 17:53

What a shame CFN doesn't have a parking space that you could use instead to teach them a lesson of the inconvenience! Or at least some way to block their house. Some people don't care how they inconvenience others but it would be a different story if it was done to them.
Also I'm intrigued, what is the business? Can you say?

Needsomeflapjacks · 26/07/2017 17:53

Let the tyres down and enlist neighbourhood hunks to push it off. .

inneedofchocolate · 26/07/2017 17:54

Sunscreen really does leave a mess of paintwork but not immediately apparent!
