To not want DH to go to to Thorpe Park because tbh im jealous?

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 16:37

I am almost 6 months pregnant (due Nov. 10)

DH and I have been invited to Thorpe Park next week. I have said there is no point in me going as I wont be able to do much apart from eat and sit on the fake beach. But DH still wants to go. I really want to be ok with him going but at the same time I am VERY VERY jealous. I love theme parks and thrill rides. I live for them. I cant wait to be able to go on them again and one day we can take Daniel too. I know pregnancy doesnt last forever and I would rather have our baby than a one day fun experience. But it still hurts to see other people having fun when you are not

Should I ask him nicely not to go or should I just bite my tounge and say fuck it? Its either I upset DH or I upset myself? Aibu?

Just read this

I dont have learning difficulties. I have just been especially busy at the moment with the home business and also getting everything ready for Daniels arrival. I havent had much time to do extensive reasearch. I was an idiot to not look up something that important though. So fairplay

You know this baby's sex, so you've met a midwife, right?

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 17:00

Luckily the only ones out of that list I remember eating in the last few months are Fish, yoghurt, smoked fish, cold meats and ice cream.

youarenotkiddingme · 24/07/2017 17:01

I didn't know there we certain foods you couldn't eat when pregnant either.

TBH I wasn't in the U.K. But it was never mentioned.

Ds was 5 when I found out and my cousin was pregnant!

Yabu to ask him not to go but I think you already knew that!

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 17:01

lottie

Yes, of course. Pretty sure its illegal to go 6 months without having a midwife or scans

This is weird

Holidayhooray · 24/07/2017 17:01

Mummy

Did you read the bloody list?

Where does it say "fish"?

Holidayhooray · 24/07/2017 17:03

You dodntbloody click on the link!

It's not all fish. In fact certain fish are absolutely brilliant to eat when pregnant.

C'mon OP. Get with the programme.

Your unborn baby's health is worth more.

Am I missing something? I don't understand how you get to six months of pregnancy and not realise you can't eat certain food. Do they not give any information out like those pregnancy books or Bounty books or Emma's Diary things at booking in appointments anymore? That's basic pregnancy stuff.

Don't be upset you partner is going to a theme park. It's nowhere near end of the world stuff.

MrsSeverusSnape · 24/07/2017 17:05

You need to click on it to read more detail Middleton, it's shark and swordfish.

All of this info should have been given to you at your booking in appointment.

implantsandaDyson · 24/07/2017 17:06

You think it's illegal not to have scans but the fact that it's recommended to avoid certain foods has completely bypassed you? Not one leaflet, not one pregnancy magazine article, not one midwife has mentioned it to you, you haven't seen it mentioned in any tv show ever?

Holidayhooray · 24/07/2017 17:06

Yes but mummy it is a link

The advice is
When you're pregnant or planning to get pregnant, you shouldn't eat shark, swordfish or marlin.

So rather than click you just thought "oh I can't eat fish".

Engage brain and actually look.

And of course you're able to eat yogurt. Again, you didn't bother to click on it

This is the advice

All types of yoghurt, including bio, live and low fat, are fine. Just check that any homemade yoghurt is made with pasteurised milk, and, if not, avoid it.

lottiegarbanzo · 24/07/2017 17:07

Ok, just that listening to the advice they give, or reading the leaflets they hand out should have given you about basic pregnancy food advice and is very far from 'carrying out extensive research'.

mangomama91 · 24/07/2017 17:08

All three of my pregnancies I was given a whatnot to eat sheet in my pregnancy pack before I had even met my midwife and then went over it by mw so not sure how you've missed that. Anyways read up on it now please.

Also yes yabu let him go.

CheshireChat · 24/07/2017 17:08

You're not allowed to eat yogurt or ice cream when pregnant Confused?

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 17:12

I always knew you couldnt drink alcahol (which I dont, pregnant or not), and you couldnt eat raw meat and fish. But I dont these things much anyway so I didnt need to cut anything out. I also knew the no caffine rule, but I detest coffee so thats not an issue. I sometimes have an energy drink, but not during pregnancy.

The rest of the stuff I didnt know, but as a concept I had heard of things you cant eat during pregnancy. Just never knew the list was so large

No Cheshire
The OP didn't bother to click on the link.

I'm going to have to walk away from this thread because it gives an insight in to how some approach pregnancy and it's bloody concerning

Fruitcocktail6 · 24/07/2017 17:12

I am Shock at this thread. Thorpe park is the least of your worries. The midwives give out leaflets, don't they?

Too busy to check you're being safe during pregnancy? Again, I am Shock

IHateUncleJamie · 24/07/2017 17:12

Getting back to Thorpe Park, YABU. You're pregnant so you will be able to go on roller coasters again after you've had a baby. It's not as if you've been told you can never go on one again, FGS. Sounds as if you need to get some perspective.

Let your DH go and enjoy himself.

I did click on the link, I just didnt realise the foods also had their own seperate liks leading to sub catagories. I just thought it was the basic list that pops up and that was it.
