To not want DH to go to to Thorpe Park because tbh im jealous?

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 16:37

I am almost 6 months pregnant (due Nov. 10)

DH and I have been invited to Thorpe Park next week. I have said there is no point in me going as I wont be able to do much apart from eat and sit on the fake beach. But DH still wants to go. I really want to be ok with him going but at the same time I am VERY VERY jealous. I love theme parks and thrill rides. I live for them. I cant wait to be able to go on them again and one day we can take Daniel too. I know pregnancy doesnt last forever and I would rather have our baby than a one day fun experience. But it still hurts to see other people having fun when you are not

Should I ask him nicely not to go or should I just bite my tounge and say fuck it? Its either I upset DH or I upset myself? Aibu?

I agree it was immature to get so annoyed aboyt DH going to Thorpe Park.

But adults can play video games? You dont just reach 18 and start getting your nails done and going to garden centers. If you are a gamer, why change? Its not hurting anyone and how is it your place to say what demographic can play a certain game?

Anyone can play Minecraft, it wasnt invented exclusively for kids, they just make up a vast majority of the fanbase. Doesnt mean adults cannot enjoy it, its a perfectly good game

Oh my god OP can you actually read. The rat happened to be called Daniel and the poster was making the point that she researched what the rat called Daniel might not be able to eat before she got the rat. Because she's responsible.

You do know it's not a particularly unusual name, others will have used it before.

QuizteamBleakley · 24/07/2017 18:19

Ahhh, raining on the 1st day of the school hols. This didn't take as long as I had predicted.

NicolasFlamel · 24/07/2017 18:20

Grin yeah the first kid is like the practice pancake..
You sound about 13. It's bizarre.

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 18:21

Harriet

I realise that now and I feel like a prat. I just saw "Daniel" and "rat" and assumed the worst. I read the comment properly after posting mine then realised I cant delete mine

OP - are you an 8 year old boy trolling us? Grin

CheshireChat · 24/07/2017 18:33

I'm a bit worried now, I make perfectly decent pancakes, but I seem to have a harder time with my kid (though he loves being thrown in the air as well!).

Is it an either/or situation?

CatACombs · 24/07/2017 18:35

Hey I had no list of foods I couldn't eat when pregnant.

Also I think it would be no harm for your dp to miss out on the odd thing seeing as you are missing out on lots. It's his baby too.

So many dads refuse to believe their lives should change at all when baby is born. They should have a bit of practice in the nine months beforehand to get used to it, same as the mothers do.

So OP YANBU! But I know I'm on my own here..

DH is not like that at all. He sings to Daniel every night and we are both taking time off from the business once baby gets here. He thinks being a dad is just as important as being a mum. Its just being a male mother. Same role, different gender. He always wanted a baby as much as I did for the 10 years we have been together. He is very maternal, definately not a manly one. Even he doesnt think he is manly. He loves Daniel just as much as I do and he cant wait to change nappies and rock him to sleep. That what a parent should do and think, reguardless of their gender. A parent is a parent.

That sounds lovely Mummy like the chocolate hampers and pebble pictures and purple glittery Prosecco bottles on Facebook?

KitKat1985 · 24/07/2017 18:42

Yes OP YABU about theme park. I get that you're a bit jealous (I remember feeling a bit like that each time DH had an after-work beer both pregnancies when I was desperate for a large glass of wine), but honestly just let him go and you do something nice for you for the day.

I'm going to be a bit blunt and say you're going to have to give up a hell of a lot more when the baby comes. You've no chance of having a Minecraft gaming day then!

I am also a bit shocked you've made it to nearly 6 months pregnant and haven't even looked at the leaflets the midwife gave you yet about pregnancy! Not being harsh, but you need to get a bit serious about this. And yes I was working full-time both pregnancies, so I do get that you might not have much free time, but the baby needs to be more of a priority. Out of curiosity, what business is it that you run? Just to say, if it's JuicePlus, ForeverLiving, Herbalife, YouUnique etc then they're not businesses, they're scams!

MummyMiddleton · 24/07/2017 18:43

Claire

Nope x Although we do xmas orniment hampers :)
