Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:10

She's 31 and until she met this new girl she never took drugs.
Now every time she goes out with her she takes Coke.
Every 30 minutes going to the toilet taking more.
I'm starting to dislike her because of it,I know that sounds awful but she's always jumping around after it,sweating, sniffing, bleeding nose and I just think she's Pathetic.
Both 31,she has 3 kids and I think your a mother and doing that.
I love a night out, cocktails etc but I'm honestly thinking of ending our friendship.
What's your opinions?

If coke isn't addictive why do so many people struggle to give it up? Is it just psychological?

Bitchfromhell · 24/07/2017 16:38

HipsterHunter you ok Hun?

Op, stop inviting them on nights out. Just see them when they're not doing drugs. If she is developing a problem she needs empathy not judgment.

stevie69 · 24/07/2017 16:38

People who take illegal drugs are brain dead idiots.

Sweeping generalisation, which I know for a fact to be untrue Hmm

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:38

I would be interested to know that too..as if she can't have any she's irritable /angry

The risk to the individual from alcohol is far less than for coke. It's just that far more people drink.

everythingissoblinkinrosie · 24/07/2017 16:40

She's a stupid idiot.

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:40

I don't mean to be judgemental,I just hate seeing her like that.
I can't be sure but I'm sure they take some kind of pills too, that all can't be good for your heart surely.

I think she's an adult and can do what she wants. Providing it's not impacting on her ability to be a parent, so what?

Namechangetempissue · 24/07/2017 16:40

I also don't get spending a small fortune (drugs or alcohol) on something that is going to make you feel so utterly shit the next day. My aunt got so shit faced the other night she spent the whole of Sunday with her head in the loo moaning about how dreadful she felt -and she paid to do that to herself. Madness. She will do it again in a couple of weeks.

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:40

I can't be sure but I think ..

you are tea total

I love the idea of being tea total. Nice Earl Grey. Some ginseng. A breakfast tea Grin

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:41

2-3 cocktails is my limit.
I hate feeling like crap,I hate wasting Sunday's.
Normally after 2-3 I'm on the lemonade.

People who take illegal drugs are brain dead idiots.

No they're not. They have created some of my favourite music, films and books. They run businesses and work in high powered jobs. They are parents on the school run and people in service industries. People who brand all those who use illegal drugs "braindead" are blinkered and ignorant.

aramintafatbottom · 24/07/2017 16:44

I'm just not sure why you'd risk your life for the sake of a "good night" which half the time isn't even that good!

Yes many people who have taken illegal drugs are great artists, authors, visionaries.... would I want them around my children? Not necessarily no!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 24/07/2017 16:45

I don't know much about coke, but I did once see a mum of two off her face on mdma at a big party at her family's country pile. She was a state the next day. She couldn't string a sentence together and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone. Her 7yo was there and just kept asking her what was wrong. I've had hangovers before. This was so much worse. Fucking grim.

Would I ever consider taking drugs as a parent? No, I genuinely wouldn't. It's not just the risk to herself (if she gets caught, if ss ever get a report about her drug use, her health, fuck knows what it's been cut with), but the whole illegal drug industry is disgusting. I've heard of little children in school uniform being used to transport drugs. That's in this country. If it was a legitimate business I wouldn't feel so anti as I do tbh. Still wouldn't do it as a parent. I'm not even keen on weed, which most people think is harmless. I'm not keen on people / parents drinking too much either fwiw. It's not harmless at all, especially in excess.

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:45

If you've got children and you take drugs your a total selfish idiot in my opinion..(yes I've told my friend what I think about it)
Imagine your child without a mother because you wanted to sniff shit up your nose..
I just don't understand

I'm happy to be judged, no problem 😋

For now though, with no dependants, enough disposable income and given I never get hangovers or come downs, I quite enjoy getting a little high and dancing for hours. I won't do it forever.

everythingissoblinkinrosie · 24/07/2017 16:46

How is she paying for all this?

Of course it affects her ability to parent.

stevie69 · 24/07/2017 16:47

No they're not. They have created some of my favourite music, films and books. They run businesses and work in high powered jobs. They are parents on the school run and people in service industries. People who brand all those who use illegal drugs "braindead" are blinkered and ignorant.

Amen to that Smile

Ashkey234 · 24/07/2017 16:47

If you child (at 16-18 etc ) came in and asked could she /he take Coke and you say no ...why take it yourself then?

OP posts:
Notreallyarsed · 24/07/2017 16:47

roarityroar that's the point though, OPs friend has 3 kids, so it's different in her case.

HatieCockpins · 24/07/2017 16:47

A night out is the best time to take drugs.
Taking them to go to the supermarket would be stupid and wasteful.

MadMags · 24/07/2017 16:47

My friend is a mid-wife and she told me all of the doctors are coked off their bins on night shifts! It's probably not true, though...

Tormundsbrow · 24/07/2017 16:48

After working with patients suffering with drug induced psychosis, I couldn't ever put anything up my nose! Most of the time I know it's fine for people, but due to my job, I see it so often I just don't understand.

At the end of the day, its illegal.

How many lives are ruined because of drugs, gang crime, people being forced to smuggle them..

crazycatgal · 24/07/2017 16:48

If you're not a parent then fair enough do what you want. If you are a parent then you need to put your children first and not take illegal drugs. Why would you want to risk losing your children or risk your own life so they have to grow up without a parent?
