Hiya all, I'm back on MN after quite a long absense. For you who don't remember me I have a DS who is now 15 montsh old (wow, where did all that time go?).

I was in te room next to the bathroom recently when MIL used the toilet and she never washed her hands and now I've become paranoid about it.

We are hardly ever there, becuase they smoke in the house, but sometimes (rarely though as I must admit to not trusting v many ppl with ds) mil comes here to sit ds and now I don't want her to touch him at all. Surely the bacteria will spread to my ds and can be dangerous?

She also wiped DS face with a tissue she spat on to get it wet before I had a chance to get a flannel.
And she let DS steal a spoon from a coffee shop because it kept him quiet and when I confronted her about this she said "They have so many spoons" (doh)

I think because of her lack of basic hygiene and morals she shouldn't spend too much time with DS but DH thinks I'm overreacting.

Am I being unreasonable? What would you do about this?

probably!

Boco · 25/03/2007 21:01

I think if i follow mb around much longer i will become up to 30% cleverer in the next few days!

mummytosteven · 25/03/2007 21:04

and before Cod says it, I am sure that not all Japanese eat nice healthy diets

I have a friend I lovingly refer to as "Anti-bac". No need for an explanation I'm sure....

Funny, she's not as fastidious as she was now baby number two has come along

I tend to think that if you go running around with a pack of wet-wipes, alcohol gel etc doing 'day-to-day' activities, then the only thing you have too much of on your hands is time.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/03/2007 21:07

Boco, not so sure about 30% more cleverer as you will be 30% fuller of usually useless information

I blardy love the useless info though !!!!!

Boco · 25/03/2007 21:08

but i will sound 30% cleverer and that is what's important.

There is a British Standard turd that is used to check that a loo will flush effectivly.

The japaise one has to have more pellets of polysyrine in it to make is a more realistic 'jobbie' and float more.

The turds of vegetarians are moister and more bulky than those of carnivores. Omenivores turds sit in the middle, as it were. There is a classification scare for turds, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is called.

I am not Gillian thingie BTW!

3easterbunniesandnomore · 25/03/2007 21:12

u sure mb....u make a lot of money if you were

Blandmum · 25/03/2007 21:14

I couldn't trot out some of the crap!

Oh how I wish I could be as interesting tomorrow. Instead I have to teach aerobic fitness and genetic modification!

the kids would be far more interested in turds and diseases!

Is that why Japanese laydees flush the toilet continuously whilst they do the business? I thought it was to hide the gentle sound of urine.....

Jamantha · 26/03/2007 12:49

Gess, we had great fun with Japanese loos on our holiday there last year. Entire spectrum ranged from the Japanese "hole in the ground" types, to all-mod-cons types, with heated seats; 2 types of spray function for post-bodily-function cleansing; air-dry facility for post-cleansing; button to press to make flushing sound throughout to cover sounds of bodily functions; and some even had a button labelled "powerful deodoriser"!
