Hi guys new thread.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 7 threads have been.

Please note the MNHQ comment on thread number 7.

"Hi everyone,

..... We had to remove several parent-blaming posts, so we'd like to ask folk not to do this. We think we can all agree that this is a truly awful time for all involved and we just wouldn't wish it on anyone. If there's anything we could do with more of, it's support. We'll continue to remove reported posts that break TGs (if we've missed something, do feel free to let us know).

If we have to make too many deletions, we will need to look at removing the thread; which is the last thing we wish to do.

Thanks all"

Anyone legal on here think that the judge can do anything about the families statement today?

DarthMaiden · 15/07/2017 23:09

@AnneofGreenGablesAgain

On the 3 occasions my son has been in hospital, twice requiring surgery under GA (one being an emergency situation) I can assure you I felt nothing but gratitude to all the staff, Doctors, Nurses, Orderlies, Admin staff all of whom treated myself, DH as most of all my DS with nothing but kindness and respect.

They didn't expect it - but my goodness they damn well deserved it.

Often just for small things - an offer of a cup of tea. Offering to sit with my son so he wasn't alone when I needed the toilet. Holding my shoulder and telling me it will be ok as they put my DS under GA and he went limp in my arms.

I'm sure because they had seen if before they "knew" when myself or DH needed additional assurance or even just a kind word.

Yes, it might be a "job" but I think it takes a very dedicated person to work in paediatric care. It's an intensely emotional and draining place to be.

I'm fortunate that my DS's issues we're treatable and he is a thriving 14 year old with no ongoing health concerns - thanks to the skill of the NHS team. However, I still remember those times in detail - it's burned on my brain.

People who work in that environment daily have my utmost respect, gratitude and thanks.

Without them, the person I've tucked up in bed and kissed goodnight 30 minutes ago wouldn't be here.

rabbitnothare · 15/07/2017 23:10

Sostenueto, I wonder too what the judge is making of this very confrontational
Statement.

Sostenueto · 15/07/2017 23:10

I agree Mertz never doubted their love, but to put a statement out that they alone care for Charlie is wrong.

Ellie56 · 15/07/2017 23:11

Natasha

The CA just keep giving. Grin

NatashaGurdin · 15/07/2017 23:11

I don't think they can see how they are being played by the right wing forces that are determined to ruin the UK whether it is Trump or the Kippers or the anti choice brigade.

Not much for critical thinking over there, same as about the election and brexit etc, etc.

I don't understand why they can't see how wrong it is for these people to be using a terminally ill baby for their own vile agenda.

cheeseandvino · 15/07/2017 23:12

Thankyou affectioninacoldclimate for the anyanswers link - such sad calls and puts this in perspective.

Wonderful professor on speaking about
Autonomy of the patient and tolerance.

Jux · 15/07/2017 23:12

I am grateful to all the staff at GOSH, and throughout the NHS, and no one has had to save my life, or dd's life or even dh's life (though I'll probably swing for him one day Grin). I don't care whether it's your job and you get paid, I'm bloody well grateful to you all anyway.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/07/2017 23:13

Need to step away from the group just gets worse. I just don't get this lot! It's all about them.

Talks about going to court..guess to parade outside. Someone saying her son will need preparing for the day out to avoid a melt down... Someone else..can't really afford trains but children just have to go without going out that weekend...

Why?!

cheeseandvino · 15/07/2017 23:14

Too trust natashaG this right wing shit invading everything - everything - Fox News style takeover of news so unethical and painful for a little baby - I think it is just appalling.

Sostenueto · 15/07/2017 23:14

And as for keeping Charlie a prisoner in hospital wtf?

NatashaGurdin · 15/07/2017 23:15

They certainly do Ellie56!

goodbyestranger · 15/07/2017 23:16

Is the statement the one made by the UKIP guy or have the parents spoken in addition?

cheeseandvino · 15/07/2017 23:16

Oh and my gosh - downplaying diarrhoea - i nearly died from it (or the dehydration) and my liver failed - and I just can't imagine what it would be like for a poor baby and would never ever wish it on a poorly baby like Charlie.

SimplyNigella · 15/07/2017 23:17

Well said Pick

Yep still think they are trying to force judge to change his mind by this ridiculous statement. He is about to blow a fuse because they are trying even in court to veto his decisions all the while. I hope Judge Francis does not succumb to this ludicrous attempt to defy the law. The parents have completely lost it now.Sad

Sostenueto, sed them all and do not let them back in, lets see if they complain when they have to pay for healthcare, it takes the piss when you think about it.

Has anyone got an email addy for the judge? I would like to send him an email in support of charlie.

FallenUnicorn · 15/07/2017 23:21

FallenUnicorn, I am truly and utterly astounded that a woman has an apointment with her child at Gosh and is still protesting. where do these people get off?

Oh no that is disgusting. And I bet she won't be the only one, I've even seen a few people comment that they've been under GOSH but would never go back. I can't imagine what they think is going on in there??! They actually believe the staff are psychotic child killers don't they.

The staff really need all the support possible, I sent a PM last week and got such a nice reply back, it really is worth sending them your kind words. One thing I've noticed through this is that GOSH have spoken with nothing but respect for the Gards, they haven't said a bad word about them and keep on putting all the focus on the family and how hard it is for them. They have so much dignity and I admire them so much.

It sounds over the top maybe, but this evening I've been emotional thinking how lucky we are really to be in the UK and have the NHS. Lot's of people say such awful things about it, but here children are so valued as individuals and cared for...we have a lot to be thankful for.

MirandaWest · 15/07/2017 23:22

I agree Maryz I don't see how his parents could change what they're doing now.

Jux · 15/07/2017 23:23

A thread or two ago, some people were reporting threats on CA to the Met police, when getting no joy from fb reporting. Is that still worth doing or are the obnoxious shower, or army as they like to be known, being more circumspect?

Venusflytwat · 15/07/2017 23:23

Bloody hell this thread is nearly full now too and the court hasn't even sat today!

I'm stepping away for a bit I think. When the next thread starts I'd love it if again we could keep the MNHQ warnings and the links to the facts in the OP, but that's just my opinion which obviously matters little.

Sending Charlie and his parents and his doctors and nurses peace tonigjt.

NatashaGurdin · 15/07/2017 23:23

The spokesperson was at pains to point out that the hostage belief was his rather than the family's but in that case they either agree with him or he has gravely misunderstood the role of spokesperson and is speaking out of turn.
