Apparently the whole country is waiting to celebrate her birthday (according to ITV)
Well Dh certainly isn't!
He was a big fan when he was a lad, and went to see her in a pantomime.
Waiting at the stage door after the show for an autograph with other star struck youngsters, she came out and told them all to Piss Off and clear off home Shock
He said she was the most horrible, rude person and that he never watched her in anything again.
Which celebs have you met that didn't match up to the pedestal you had them on?

I usually change channels when Jamie Oliver comes on - I can't bear to watch him - but I feel that I must come to his defence.

Why is he "beyond rude" for not wanting to talk to a PP and her mates when, by her own admission, they were 'plastered' in a hotel bar?

I feel quite sorry for him, which I never thought I'd say. Maybe he was tired, had an early start the next day and/or just didn't want to have a conversation with a group of drunk people.

Nettletheelf · 17/07/2017 08:20

Also, as other posters have noted, it's easy for a celebrity to be 'absolutely charming' at an event they have been booked to attend. It's part of the job. It's how they behave when things aren't going their way that's the test of how 'absolutely lovely' they are.

I think I'd start to lose patience if I were plagued by people trying to take photos of me on their phones to prove that they had seen me, or shoving bits of paper in my face to sign. No wonder Colin Firth was grateful to the PP who served him in a shop but didn't do the whole "oooh I loved you in Pride and Prejudice" routine and treated him as a normal customer. The poor bloke was trying to buy a few last minute Christmas presents and could, I'm sure, have done without being constantly accosted. I don't see that as part of the job.

SumThucker · 17/07/2017 08:46

Can't stand his singing voice, but I have to stick up for Liam Gallagher, was lovely when I met him and posed for photos, and everyone else I know who have met him says the same.
Paul Scholes, Phil Thompson both nice.

Daniel Craig - long time ago - at a bar in London - and then - errrrrrr best night ever !!!!

Tell or ban!

QueenoftheAndals · 17/07/2017 08:50

In defence of Tony Robinson, I met him on a flight to Washington once and spoke to him, saying I was a massive Blackadder fan, and he was very nice and gracious.

cambodianfoxhound · 17/07/2017 09:47

Apparently Jon Snow was at Glastonbury this year and the general consensus was he was a complete dick. He is apparently tiny tiny too.

MsGee · 17/07/2017 10:06

Having met Fergie a few times I have to say she is not lovely. She's a horrible old cowbag who treats her staff appallingly and loves to go out of her way to humiliate people.

ShelaghTurner · 17/07/2017 14:12

I haven’t technically met Fergie but I’ve been close enough to observe her behaviour behind the scenes as it were, and she was lovely. Very jolly and chatty and not at all rude.

Anasnake · 17/07/2017 14:19

Cambodian- Jon Snow the newsreader or Kit Harrington ?

QueenoftheAndals · 17/07/2017 14:30

Must be Kit Harington as I've seen the newsreader and he's well over 6 foot.

MyOtherProfile · 17/07/2017 14:45

Although the newsreader definitely was at Glasto living it up.

Poonique · 17/07/2017 14:46

Lady Sarah McCorquodale,(princess Diana's sister) I worked on a yard she kept one of her horses and also hunted with her a few times. An absolutely fantastic woman, would get stuck in, very down to earth and I very much admired her both as a person and a horsewoman.

BoysofMelody · 17/07/2017 14:47

Yep, ripping a defenceless animal apart for entertainment, a hugely admirable quality that.

Nightshirt · 17/07/2017 14:49

@Nettletheelf, felt same as you.

Nightshirt · 17/07/2017 14:50

that is re Jamie Oliver

Poonique · 17/07/2017 14:54

@Boysofmelody who said there was a ripping apart of any animal?

BoysofMelody · 17/07/2017 14:58

who said there was a ripping apart of any animal?

You.

MikeUniformMike · 17/07/2017 15:01

BoysofMelody No she didn't.

Poonique · 17/07/2017 15:02

A lot of hunting follows an artificial, or laid, scent.

When they just 'happen' upon a fox and can't call the dogs off. Ha, pull the other one, it has got bells on it.

Poonique · 17/07/2017 15:08

Oh wow, you're certainly determined to argue aren't you.

BoysofMelody · 17/07/2017 15:11

Yes.

JustadaftProfessor · 17/07/2017 15:23

Let's hijack a thread for an agenda.

BoysofMelody · 17/07/2017 15:39

Not hijacking a thread, someone said they admired someone who enjoys the death of animals for sport. I said I find it and then thoroughly unlikable and their hobby vile.

JustadaftProfessor · 17/07/2017 15:41

yes, i can read 4 post up.

Poonique · 17/07/2017 15:41

Apologies JustadaftProfessor. I didn't mean this to turn into a hunting debate at all, hence not retaliating. I should have been clearer, I just assumed everyone knew that hunting has been scent based for years.
