New thread so that we can await this morning's hearing.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 5 threads have been.

Fingers crossed that this can all be resolved today and that Charlie and his parents can find peace.

Charlie Gard: Mr Justice Francis enters court. Hearing begins. Grant Armstrong, for parents, will address the court first.

cjt110 · 13/07/2017 10:47

rabbitnothare Thanks for clarifying this.

cjt110 · 13/07/2017 10:48

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 10:49

LapinR0se · 13/07/2017 10:49

Armstrong: parties have filed position statements. Judge: I want to thank lawyers and medics for hard work since Monday

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/07/2017 10:49

Rozenberg's live link here ... I know this one works as I'm watching it:

GabsAlot, because they need to finish what they have started. I know exactly where you are coming from, because they might really regret not spending their last bitof time with Charlie, I think they have used their time with him very unwisley.

LapinR0se · 13/07/2017 10:50

Judge tells Charlie’s parents that his welfare remains the court’s priority. Reminds press that clinicians can’t be identified.

Rocksyluv · 13/07/2017 10:51

I don't know why, but I am suddenly hoping Charlie gets this chance. I have completely changed my view.

I feel awful for everyone involved,

LapinR0se · 13/07/2017 10:51

I will stop posting tweets then unless anybody needs me to

WinterWinds001 · 13/07/2017 10:51

Very sad that, in what could be the very last hours/days of his life, at least one of the parents haven't stayed with him.
Hopefully this all ends today and that poor poor baby gets peace finally.

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 10:51

i know mucky but if anything hapnd while they were away would they ever forgive themselves

Ceto · 13/07/2017 10:52

I do get irrationally cross at that slogan "If he's still fighting we're still fighting". Clearly he isn't. He is being forced to breathe, he has no choice.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 10:52

Rocksyluv, 00.1% is not really a chance though is it?

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 10:52

sorry lapin i thought youd gone out

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 10:52

GabsAlot, thats what I mean, its tragic really. Ihonestly do not think they can see the wood for the trees.

MarthasHarbour · 13/07/2017 10:53

I actually feel sick for them Sad

Oogle · 13/07/2017 10:53

mucky that's exactly it. I've felt they have been utterly wrong in the way they have courted the press (but CA are the group really making me cross), but I honestly cannot say what I would do. I wouldn't have wanted to go public but the idea of being in their situation turns my stomach. Their desperation and willing to try everything is understandable.

Sallystyle · 13/07/2017 10:53

Checking in. I hope today is the day they decide Charlie can soon be taking off the ventilator and be in peace.

11122aa · 13/07/2017 10:53

I fear Connie and Chris losing it in court if it doesn't go their way.

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 13/07/2017 10:54

"Fighting" irks me. Like people who die are just lazy. Ffs Angry

LapinR0se · 13/07/2017 10:54

I'm home now, don't mind posting them at all but someone put a link on so not sure it's needed?

AnneBiscuit · 13/07/2017 10:54

I've just read this very good article by Melanie Phillips. I think it sums up what most people have been saying on here:
