A friend of mine had a cousin who happened to also be a cousin of Jim Kerr from Simple Minds. Although my friend was not actually related to Jim Kerr she referred to him as her half cousin. Another friend used to boast that she and Simon Le Bon were at school together, they did indeed go to the same school but not at the same time. Anyone else got any vague claims to fame?

Lived with someone who grew up with someone from One Direction. My 3rd cousin works behind the scenes on Dr Who. My grandad did a job for the Libyan King back in the 60s. Does that count as celeb??

And I used to work with someone who was prosecuted for a crime against John Leslie

Oh, and if that's not enough, my DH once played Sunday League football against the brother of Tracy Shaw (Maxine from Coronation Street). I served Tosh Lyons from the Bill on my checkout at Sainsbury's.

My second cousin once removed was Kay Harker in The Box of Delights.

MIL's cousin's daughter's SIL is Morwenna Banks.

One of my mum's patients is the executive producer of a well known and long running BBC programme. Now that's unbeatable.
