A friend of mine had a cousin who happened to also be a cousin of Jim Kerr from Simple Minds. Although my friend was not actually related to Jim Kerr she referred to him as her half cousin. Another friend used to boast that she and Simon Le Bon were at school together, they did indeed go to the same school but not at the same time. Anyone else got any vague claims to fame?

Edited version of my own post. Just fact checked and Google tells me that Paul McCartney doesn't have a half brother, just his full brother, Mike McGear. Process of deduction and elimination reveals that

I went to the same school as Roger McGough's (of The Scaffold, which was also the group that Mike McGear was in, hence the confusion) partners (Thelma Monaghan) son, Nathan Monaghan. Who has since name changed to Nathan McGough. Glad I worked that one out.

I once went into a toilet cubicle after Cat Deeley. I did a poo.

An ex-employer ALMOST set me up on a blind date with a US TV Talk show host when I split from my boyfriend ( it didn't work out as we got back together and he's now my husband). I wonder....

I work with someone who's husband is good friends with Ian Brown of The Stone Roses.
