If we can get our hands free to type from the constant facepalming, we should be able to post on this topic.

Does anyone else find it a "coincedence" that all this comes out just a few days after Trump and Putin met face to face?

Watch this video from today with the proposed FBI head.

The email takes on a whole new level when read out 'officially'.

I can't wait to see Don Jr answer these questions.
Along with other people who got that email.

Yes orlantina the timeline is everything.

I also agree with cozie, SCROTUS will not resign but perhaps his health will take a turn ...

I wondered about the timing too. The NY Times described its sources thus:

"confidential government records described to The New York Times. The previously unreported meeting was also attended by Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, as well as the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, according to interviews and the documents, which were outlined by people familiar with them."

www.nytimes.com/2017/07/08/us/politics/trump-russia-kushner-manafort.html

And the next day more details came from:
"three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it"

Who knows what to make of that.

On the impeachment articles filed by one Rep Brad Sherman- thehill.com/homenews/house/341677-house-dem-files-article-of-impeachment-against-trump?amp
It just sounds like a publicity stunt tbh. From the piece in the Hill: A majority vote in the House, currently controlled by Republicans, is required to impeach a president. Republicans have a 46-seat advantage. Sherman's article is unlikely to succeed in the GOP-controlled House.
Sherman so far has only one supporter on his article of impeachment: Rep. Al Green (D-Texas), who previously called for Trump's impeachment on the House floor.

If it took Trump Sn. such a short time to launch into his 33,000 emails riff, does that suggest he was listening in on the meeting?

Mensch thinks so

And if there's tapes (& remember his rant about phone tapping) then whoppeeee are we in for fun when those tapes are heard.

Because it seems the NYT might have them....

Pain, I do like your article from the Hill where Trump claims that Putin wanted Hillary to win because basically Trump is just too manly with his big guns and macho soldiers (I assume that's what Trump thinks of when he talks about his strong military). Delusional in oh-so-many ways.

Pain and orlantina

On the timing of the disclosures, this was published yesterday but I don't know the original source, sorry.

The timing of the disclosure of Don Trump Jr.'s meeting with Veselnitskaya makes it look a lot like a Russian play to me.

Seems like a hit in response to Trump showing even the most pathetic attempt to look like he's not fully in Putin's pocket after their mtg.

That's incredibly worrying. Putin didn't get exactly what he wanted (i.e. lifted sanctions), so here's a shot over the bow at Don Jr.

Or maybe the timing is just a big old coincidence and just happens to help give the appearance that Putin fully controls the Oval Office.

Suffice it to say, I don't believe it's a coincidence. And this is why it's incredibly damaging that the GOP won't step up in defense of US.

Because if the US govt itself doesn't take back control of the WH swiftly, we're essentially conceding power over its occupant to Putin.

If he is allowed to control the flow of information that determines whether Trump stays in office, we are already fucked. It's already over.

First we let him attack and influence our election. Then we didn't vacate the results after knowing about interference. And now?

Now we are going to let Putin dictate when Trump's potentially treasonous presidency comes to an end? JFC NO. Nope. No.

This is why the Democrats must raise their accountability game immediately. No more reservations about impeachment talk.

This is why the Republicans must prioritize country over party and join the Democrats in calling for swift removal of Trump and Pence.

The only way we protect our national sovereignty is by wrestling back control of WH from Putin IMMEDIATELY, lest he decide Trump's fate.

We cannot have that. We absolutely cannot. Putin cannot be allowed to decide through this media manipulation who our president is or isn't.

It is long past time that we take control of this situation. That begins with bipartisan agreement to do something swiftly and decisively.

This is the last chance. If it doesn't happen now, and we let Putin dictate the terms of Trump's presidency, it's over. We've lost
