If we can get our hands free to type from the constant facepalming, we should be able to post on this topic.

Don't read this Beast piece unless you can take some depression.

American greatness?

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 18:35

I'm afraid the market likely will as well, orlantina. It's edgy as all get out.

orlantina · 15/07/2017 18:40

And it's like the UK

Yes, more jobs. That sounds great as a headline.

But when analysed, it gets more complicated. How many full / part time jobs? Zero hours? How many people are under employed? Not working to their full potential? And what about pay? It's not rising.

That's the UK news. Headline employment is up. But beneath the statistics, it's more complicated.

And people who are in these crap jobs will get that. They won't see their lives improving. And that's what Trump said would happen.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 18:43

I would be inserting 'top line' into your comment about statistics. 45 is only quoting those. (Not the less favourable ones. )

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 20:41

I'm just watching Ms Maddow's piece on 45's lawyers. I'm not sure I can link to it successfully but it's well worth watching if you're in the mood to have a look-see. Smile

M0stlyBowlingHedgehog · 15/07/2017 20:45

Fox anchor Shepard Smith goes wildly off piste (for Fox) and points out (live on Fox TV) that Trump's inner circle have told "lie after lie after lie".

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 20:58

Yes. I've seen that clip. The use of the 'L' word is indeed noteworthy.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 21:06

I'll give it a try. It's too interesting to miss.

Rachel Maddow

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 21:08

No. It didn't work. Still - you know what to look for? Smile

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 21:34

By the way, that Maddow segment was - acknowlegedly - based on this piece from Propublico. It should give you the general flavour.

Trump Lawyer

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 21:35

Sorry. ProPublica.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 21:37

(I was clearly paying too much attention to certain elements of the spelling. Grin)

AcrossthePond55 · 15/07/2017 22:00

Shep Smith must be angling to break his contract with Fox. Either that or he's had a bad outbreak of 'truth-itis'. Either way, I like it.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:02

Oh Yes.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:03

There's actually a third option, Across. That might be too much to hope for, though............

Chris Wallace & Shep Smith have the most honest moment on Fox News in years. Viewers flip out. Conditioned to reject truth, accept lies.

WestleyAndButtockUp · 15/07/2017 22:19

To be fair, Shep Smith is often the voice of reality on Fox News

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:24

Still. To use the 'L' word numerous times. And to be responded to in that way by.....Wallace was it?

MicrowaveSpy · 15/07/2017 22:31

Can you imagine being with Trump & Co this weekend? There would be some awkward dinner-table chat...

MicrowaveSpy · 15/07/2017 22:37

And what's with the sniffing?

I recalll during the election he sniffed a lot. Is it his 'tell', nervous reaction or could it be his use of 'something to keep him going'?

During the campaign, didn't he claim HC was on drugs? He accused her of many things, which in fact we now know he was guilty of Wink

Lweji · 15/07/2017 22:53

Cocaine he said.

I'm sure that considering his behaviour he's upgraded from cocaine to crack.

He may need it to keep up with the energy levels required.
