Posted too early, sorry.

Meant to add that there is stuff all over the CA FB pages about the parents not being able to access Charlie's medical records. Are GOSH perhaps not allowing them access to recent material because Charlie now has an appointed guardian, and/or they believe that sensitive material will be leaked?

Oogle · 12/07/2017 10:37

@lonelymummy I am thinking of you and your daughter xx

stitchglitched · 12/07/2017 10:38

All the best to you and your DD today LonelyMummy Flowers

11122aa · 12/07/2017 10:40

Probably the latter. If its true through. GOSH cant confirm or deny it but it helps 'GOSH are evil' angle the Family seem to be trying to push.

chipscheeseandgravy · 12/07/2017 10:40

I think this stopped being about what is best for Charlie along time ago. He's severely brain damaged and will have zero quality of life. Being on life support for the rest of your life is not living it's existing. This case is entirely about the parents and what they want. He won't be able to go to school, and if GOSH is to be believed he can't consistently open his eyes.

a good friend of mine growing up has a severely disabled sister. She has the mental capacity of a 6 month old (she's about 25 now), she can't do anything for herself. Knowing the girl like I do I wouldn't want that for my child.

Charlie's so called army are causing more harm than good. Trying to picket hospitals is putting a strain on an already underfunded hospitals.

leghoul · 12/07/2017 10:42

I gather the parents refused to engage with all support services a long time ago, and have continued to refuse to engage, instead being bolstered by CA. As someone who had to, or perhaps had to choose to, remove life support from my child I find it quite distressing to catch wind of the shouts of murderer and that good parents, or all parents, would do everything they can to keep their child alive. It's not in a child's best interests to be in intractable pain and suffering, and I don't think it's right to experiment as if a baby is a lump of tissue or an animal. He's a person and he's drowned out by this circus (which has been fed entirely by media attention, I think). Very sad.

Lightlovelife · 12/07/2017 10:45

Thank you Chatty just read your post about the information commissioners office hope others who have been told they have signed theCitizenGo petition will see it. I am several pages behind so this probably won't fit with current posts.

UrsulaPandress · 12/07/2017 10:45

Those 4 people turning up for the demo was such a sad indictment of modern times. All that shitstorm behind a screen and then the sad reality.

muckypup73 · 12/07/2017 10:48

stitchglitched, if there is no evidence presented today then that should be it, however I am sure they will appeal it, them and charlies army.

SocksBoatsAndQats · 12/07/2017 10:50

Thinking of you today and hope all goes well with the procedure Flowers

Rabbitnothare · 12/07/2017 10:53

She contradicts herself every other sentence

"I know what we did was right for our son, but I'm not saying it is right for the gard family" "I do think they need to let him slip away peacefully" "there is no right or wrong in these cases" clueless woman!

CA page ^^, they are talking about another mother who had the life support ended for her child.

Clueless? I would think that she knows more about it than they do.

Lonelymummyof1 · 12/07/2017 10:53

Yes you get voucher booklets of 7 vouchers of 7 pound on a weekly basis can be used in the gosh lagoon or mcdonalds etc around the local area.
Also mothercare etc
They are very helpful.
We are in our other hospital and its a real struggle to eat ! X

Just spoken to someone at ICO regarding theCitizenGo petition. Their advice is to get in touch with CitizenGo and then forward any response from them to ICO or you can ring them on 03031231113.
Have been thinking about you too, LonelyMummy. Sounds as though you have some good friends in RL. Flowers

I think the QC in court did a massive disservice complaining about medical record requests. She sounded like a crotchety librarian! And in a case like this it is truly irrelevant and the least of worries.

REinforced the idea that the GOSH admin are uncaring and have another agenda. Of course everyone wants the medical records! Particularly the parents. This is an extraordinary situation.

Gives the CA something truly irrelevant to bleat about.

ArgyMargy · 12/07/2017 11:06

I've just sent a message to GOSH through Facebook and they replied very quickly. I think it is worth doing if you are on FB - obviously someone has to send the responses but hopefully it's a "cut & paste" job. I included a comment about the potentially fraudulent nature of the petition as I think it is important that they don't really believe there are 400,000 people who signed it.

Rhodiolia · 12/07/2017 11:10

lonelymummyof1 I can help again if needed, please just say. I will be thinking of little miss twinkle toes all day today.

My nephew spent the first 8 months of his life in PICU in a hospital quite distance from we all lived. Luckily my sister was on mat leave, but the costs were astronomical despite being given a room in the R McDonald house. It is so tough, I just wish the Barmy Army would share the "treat" money round some of the equally deserving parents sitting at their kids bedsides, going hungry.

Rabbitnothare · 12/07/2017 11:10

I agree Spiney, it didn't come across well.
I wonder if there is more to it that wasn't reported but I think it was a mistake nevertheless.
