Today's favourite from the Barmy so far in response to someone saying they are going to tweet live updates from outside the court (hmmm, useful):

C: Thank you. I'll be checking as soon as I finish work. (I have considered quitting my job for this.) Everyone please keep praying and being positive. 💙💙💙 What is the address of court and what time will it likely finish,? I can leave work just after 3 and the earliest I could be there is 5-6 pm. Would there likely be anything physically going on then where I could be there to show support? If yes, where? 💙💙💙💙💙💙 I really want to be there. I am a teacher and there are a few days left of school. I sooo want to be there to show support. 💙💙💙 Thank you for being there. 💙💙 Bless Charlie!! 💙💙

Zoflorabore · 13/07/2017 08:54

Oh dear god. The irony of that message Sad

totallyliterally · 13/07/2017 08:56

If I thought that was a teacher I was a school governor or head in I would be taking action.

totallyliterally · 13/07/2017 08:56

Ok sorry action is probably a bit strong but still eye rolls

LastMangoInPeckham · 13/07/2017 08:57

www.melaniephillips.com/the-hijacking-of-tragedy/

Interesting article that pretty much sums things up in my opinion.

Zoflorabore · 13/07/2017 08:57

On Monday I followed Joshua's tweets live on sky news too, just in case anyone has any problems getting on.
I do not have Twitter either thankfully

Zoflorabore · 13/07/2017 08:58

Come on- she is not a teacher! For the sake of our school age children I sincerely hope not anyway

Lightlovelife · 13/07/2017 08:58

Yes please, tweets from the Court would be helpful.

ShatnersWig · 13/07/2017 08:59

By the way, did you know that 90% of those who think this supposed treatment shouldn't be given to Charlie don't have children of their own? It must be true, a member of the Barmy says so:

"9 times out of 10 it's people that don't have children that can't understand. I 1000% am positive that this will work and only good will come of the treatment but if it doesn't (I refuse to believe it wont) at least Connie and Chris know they did all they could do to save him. let's hope for the best outcome. Charlie gard.. you are loved by millions... good luck little boy the whole world is behind you 💙💙💙 xxx"

Flowers Flowers for you LonelyMummy - what a fantastic and courageous woman you are. Your DD sounds amazing.

I posted on one of the earlier threads but have largely been lurking since then, agreeing with a lot that has been raised on here. Mumsnet has been a haven of rational thought and discussion from some of the loony rubbish being spouted on social media.

I pray that today there can be an end to the frenzy around this case, and that whatever the outcome Chris and Connie will be supported and that Charlie's suffering is ended and he can be at peace finally. It makes me so sad to think of the quality (or lack there of) of life he has/faces- I am currently very ill and bedridden and as an adult that is hard enough, plus I can express my own needs and wants on the matter. For such a tiny baby to even be unable to cry... it is just heartbreaking.

Love to all those who have faced similar on these threads Flowers

Lightlovelife · 13/07/2017 09:02

Zoflorabore she is more articulate than most on CA, but if she can leave school at 3 she is more likely to be a TA. In my long teaching career I think the only time I left school on the dot was because I had a meeting to go to or a course to attend.

MoreProseccoNow · 13/07/2017 09:03

Yes, I'm not on twitter so would appreciate that.

SumThucker · 13/07/2017 09:03

Giving up her job?!

Feck Offffffffffff Angry

goodbyestranger · 13/07/2017 09:06

Lets hope that wasn't the teacher there Shatners and if it was, lets hope she doesn't teach maths.

I have children but it always seems unbelievably offensive to me when people say those without children can't understand.

Ceto · 13/07/2017 09:06

On the army page

The Brave of the demonstrants go in , get the baby , get him out and flee from and flee from UK.They will euthanise the human rights and the democracy today. More people want that he lives than people there woh want him to see dying.

Do they really not get that absolutely no-one wants to see him dying? It's just that no-one wants to see him existing in a living hell either.

kkkkaty123 · 13/07/2017 09:07

Lapin re live tweets I found it very informative

Trampire · 13/07/2017 09:07

Some comments from CA this morning (Sorry I can't seem to turn away!)

Best typo - "Great Ormond Street SOCKS"

"GOSH = Auschwitz"

GriefLeavesItsMark · 13/07/2017 09:07

It will work because I am 1000% sure it will work. Yup, pretty much the definition of magical thinking.

mikado1 · 13/07/2017 09:08

I feel desperately for the parents, I think I would be of a similar mind 're let's just try, if there was a chance my child could be cured but when even the 'cure' will leave him terribly unwell and brain-damaged still, I hope I would think of the equivalent in an adult-as pps have said, would you want to live like this? I wouldn't. My father was given his last rites, years ago, during a v painful illness and all he thought was 'Just let me go', he wasn't strong enough to say it. Charlie can't either and his parents need to think only of him, hard for them as it is.

TheWeeWitch · 13/07/2017 09:09

Lapin yes, thank you for the tweets. Good idea.

goodbyestranger · 13/07/2017 09:09

GOSH = Auschwitz is utterly sick. These morons have no comprehension.

kkkkaty123 · 13/07/2017 09:09

Give up her job ?
If she's a teacher then please do

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 13/07/2017 09:13

Might be worthwhile for a campaign getting MN together with RMHC? Two big companies on it would make a huge difference? They have houses in fifteen of those hospitals listed upthread

www.rmhc.org.uk/our-houses/

ShatnersWig · 13/07/2017 09:14

Genuine question: does anyone on here know anyone who is part of the Barmy? Who has changed their profile pic with the support banner, used some of those frequent hashtags, posted regular status updates?

I don't. No one I know does (from discussions). Yet there are over 61,000 of them, most of whom have that banner or blue heart in their profile pic. OK, some are overseas, but even so. Be interesting to know if anyone knows one of them in real life and if they are the sort to have previously gone mad over a cause of some sort.

kkkkaty123 · 13/07/2017 09:16

Shatners I'm no longer on fb came off ages ago. But I could have a bet with myself which friends in my list would be on there. As in rl then no I don't know anyone
