Liner I think they believe that only god can make decisions about life and death.
I am not religious but once knew a wonderful baptist minster and had many interesting conversations with him.
I asked him how he could believe in god when so many awful things happened in the world and he said he believed god gave man freedom of choice so would not intervene but would advise through prayer.
That made his belief make more sense to me.
One of my daughters is dyslexic and always wrote god as dog. That made sense as well.
The Meds are making me ramble.
Goodnight.

Xeneth88 · 12/07/2017 23:25

Laura Gard really is trying to rake in the cash. She contacted my a local independent school, my sister is the head of, to arrange a "fund raiser" for charlies care fees to be paid directly into Connies bank acount when questioned.

GabsAlot · 12/07/2017 23:26

@lonelymummy01 enjoy that pizza

and sweet dreams to you both

Xeneth88 · 12/07/2017 23:26

lonelymummy glad you got a hot dinner. Please pm me if you need anything.

rabbitnothare · 12/07/2017 23:27

Xeneth88 Shock, my goodness, I thought it was awful that she removed any reference to other babies needing help, but that might be worse.

DarthMaiden · 12/07/2017 23:29

Ok - well that's six of us so far

Sorry to rinse and repeat but these threads move so fast...

Can you post if you are interested in the following:

@Rhodiolia

I could not agree more.

We see millions raised for one child, yet hundreds of family's are left in a benefits trap whilst supporting very ill children.

This is especially so where conditions "fluctuate" between periods of relative "normality" and then crisis.

Yet the benefit system pays no mind to this. It's based on "now" - the time of the claim.

A big issue with this case, as Rhodiola so eloquently posted, is that it creates compassion fatigue for the many other families in dire need of financial support.

Their cases may not be played out on mainstream media but the day to day costs of looking after a child in ICU/HDU can be crippling.

This is the sort of injustice we should look to address as the MN community imho

smilingmind · 12/07/2017 23:32

Thank you everyone it means a lot and I would love to help with the plans. Having been in that situation it would be like giving something back for the amazing support we got.
Bowing out now.

QuizteamBleakley · 12/07/2017 23:32

Almost completely irrelevant but @Lonelymummy, can I treat you to some nice scran tomorrow? While you're Mummin' to the max, I'd love to pay for your lunch Any spare monies to legwarmers and points fund! DM me :)

Yamayo · 12/07/2017 23:52

This thread is making me so emotional.

You guys are amazing.

Now I'll stop before I get banned for life. Grin

SerfTerf · 12/07/2017 23:58

I'm in @DarthMaiden

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 13/07/2017 00:10

I'd get behind that darth
(Hello all, I've been lurking as these threads are moving way too fast for me Flowers to everyone who has been affected by similar)

Might be worth starting a thread in "campaigns"?

Hope you enjoyed that pizza, lonely and your dd is having a restful night x

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 13/07/2017 00:12

I'm in Darth.

Twozealotmorethan1 · 13/07/2017 00:19

Sostenueto Flowers
That's beautiful.

Twozealotmorethan1 · 13/07/2017 00:20

Count me in too Darth. Totally worthwhile campaign.

DarthMaiden · 13/07/2017 00:21

@BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings

Yes it may come to that, but to be fair to MNHQ they do need a "body" of support.

Posting in site stuff isn't going to get that until there is some momentum.

Oh and to be clear it was @Rhodiolia that highlighted this important and overlooked issue, not me.

I just agreed (very strongly) with it.

Dustbunny1900 · 13/07/2017 00:38

Errr, CA all posting pics of their smiling babies for likes, under the pretense that they're comparing them to Charlie's growth..wow, tacky af. "Go ahead and share, my baby's a model" 🙄 I think that's really distasteful/insensitive to Connie and Chris, whose baby cannot smile or see or hear or breathe. And is dying very soon. . Especially on the eve of their final court date. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.

redshoeblueshoe · 13/07/2017 00:41

I'm in darth, I did post earlier some of the financial problems people have whilst their child is in NICU. Its even more expensive when you live in a different city, as many people do. One family whilst we were there lived 300 miles away, so relatives can't just pop in and take them dinner.
Flowers my thoughts are with so many of you on this thread tonight and a very big unmumsnetty hug tonight x

Seeingadistance · 13/07/2017 00:42

I'm also in for a campaign to support parents with children in hospital.

TheWeeWitch · 13/07/2017 00:42

Me too.

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 13/07/2017 00:54

I believe it was posted upthread that the case is due to begin at 10.30am.
Once again, I hope that whatever the result, it's the best outcome for Charlie.

Flowers to everyone who's contributed on this thread who is going through very difficult times in their own life.

DarthMaiden · 13/07/2017 01:02

Well said Gin

Bloomed · 13/07/2017 01:18

Am also in for the campaign

Bloomed · 13/07/2017 01:20

Had a look on CA. It's as though all the school bullies got together and decided to misunderstand science.

LogicalPsycho · 13/07/2017 02:03

I'm in too @Darthmaiden Smile

LogicalPsycho · 13/07/2017 02:09

@Lonelymummy I've been thinking of you and your little girl today, so happy that her line went in successfully.
I don't care if it's against usual MN standards, but just wanted to send you xxx, ((a hug)), and positive thoughts for you both x
