I wouldn't be surprised tinsel if all interventions at this point were delivered by two experienced staff members ie no single nurse intervention. I imagine GOSH will want to protect its staff as well as give highest standard of care to Charlie

You don't think there may be someone (CA) who realises the plan for the funds is never going to happen and therefore there may be lots of cash about?

Tinsel I said this a few threads back, but when my relative was having life saving treatment in a highly respected children's hospital, there were cameras, reporters there. This was absolutely horrendous for everyone, as we were already struggling with very difficult situations.

Light no, I don't buy it at all. How the hell would they get your email address to sign the petition. Have you commented on any of the Charlie Guard FB groups at all? I'm not that savvy with these things but hopefully someone else might be able to come up with some kind of link. I find it odd....

Glad the see the MSM is reporting the truth about this pastor. I've seen a comment of his today saying he is heading back to America tomorrow and Catherine Glen FOster is going back on Saturday.
So much for him wanting to support Charlie's parents, he can't even stay until after the hearing on Thursday.

I have name changed for this but in brief back when I was ward nursing we had a dispute with a patient’s family about care. Family had been verbally aggressive even before the relationship with them had broke down. They went to the local paper and told their version of events, this was before everyone had camera phones and everyone on facebook, just a local paper.

For weeks afterwards staff were abused by members of the general public, one colleague even ended up with a stalker. We were send abusive letters etc. With regards to the patient we were advised by legal to only enter the room in pairs, which meant that at time there was a possibility the patients care was compromised. We all felt the extra pressure/strain.

Staff will be affected by this, they just can’t comment publicly. All this time on and I still go cold thinking about it now

Ugh. Not only are the family selling merchandise but this FB page are selling baby clothes with CA slogans on them. I find that very distasteful.

This must be awful for everyone else there, putting their children's lives in the hospitals hands. Even if they thoroughly don't believe any of the claims of murder etc it's going to make a stressful hospital visit even more stressful!

Donations for Charlie are not necessary, His stay in hospital is free, as is the pro bono UK solicitor/barrister, QC

What do they need. Donations could be taken from people who are at the pin of their collars so to speak. I do not like that kind of manipulation,

Surely after the first court case it may have been obvious the other courts would agree. How much of this drama has been to do with money and how much to do with saving the little boy?

Allowing a protest actually at GOSH is disgraceful and someone needs to stop it, don't they realise that aside from a very poorly Charlie Gard, There are literally hundreds of frightened, sick and vulnerable children with equally frightened parents going through potentially the worst period in their entire lives who will on top of the living hell of having a sick child, will also have to navigate around screaming mobs waving balloons and blasting loud music out?

Who on earth would think that is an appropriate way to behave? And this from people who profess to care

So there is no kind of rule Go Fund Me money actually has to be used for the purpose stated?

What about a protest about people who make money from a dying child..

A previous poster mentioned her (very ill) child had been upset by such a protest on the way to the hospital. It was the last thing they needed.

Could I just ask if the CG's parents have any kind of empathy with others who may have dying kids on their wards?

I think the most likely explanation for the fake petitioners is that this very shady organisation has bought a list of email addresses from somewhere.

I believe this can happen when organisations get hacked - no doubt someone on here will have more knowledge and be able to explain better than I can.

I have been following this case closely. It has to be one of the most heartbreaking cases I have ever come across. For me, it seems quite clear though. Little Charlie is suffering from an extremely rare and terminal condition and is extremely poorly. According to GOSH, one of the best children's hospitals in the world, who have been caring for Charlie, day in day out, he has suffered catastrophic brain damage, cannot see, cannot hear, cannot move, cannot swallow, cannot cry. I have looked at recent photos and the poor little boy looks so poorly, so swollen. Even if permission were granted for him to receive this experimental treatment in the US and even if it did provide some improvement to Charlie's condition, I cannot see how that would leave him with any reasonable quality of life, given the damage that is poor little body has already sustained. In my opinion, I think that the kindest option would be for Charlie's treatment to be withdrawn and for him to die peacefully and with dignity.

I've reported certain posts from CA to FB (they font seem to realise any member of the public can see what they're writing?).
I've heard nothing from FB yet.

I reported the "Attack GOSH with bazookas!" To the Met today via tweet with screenshot. Apart from a few replies from similar horrified people I've heard nothing yet.

People are busy though so I'll wait.

I have donated to GOSH today, and sent a supportive message. I received a lovely message back saying how they would pass on the message to all staff.

as for the money i dont donate to anyone direct regardless to cover myself i always use a lgitmate page like justgiving etc

They may be "legitimate pages", but except for the fact that they take a %, there is no difference between donating through such a page or straight into a bank account.

There is no requirement, afaik, for the money to be spent in a specific way. The fundraisers don't answer to anyone, the money ends up in their personal accounts.

Afaik, i don't think anyone has ever been asked to prove they spent the money on what they said they would, or challenged on cases where money has been raised for "treatment in america", but never been needed. I think they just get to keep it.

There's lots of stuff about attacking GOSH with bazookas over on the US CA group as well. I guess they are in US though so less likely to attack. ?!?
