Oh nevermind. They are now back to it being a cover up by GOSH and their QC is evil and the Judge is corrupt.

Those with any intelligence, anyway.

Logical you're a wee honey bunch. Any body would find this situation desperately hard. You are not alone.

They may be trying to distance themselves from the 10% figure for some reason. Possibly because there's no evidential support for it. They may be trying to argue that the parents were just quoting what they'd been told and don't themselves seek to argue that there's any specific figure involved.

So they key expert they've centered so much if their arguement on agrees with GOSH?

Wasn't 10% the figure used in one of other cases somewhat similar to this.

CA cat calling the judge for not allowing a full re-hearing.

Do they not understand that's not in Charlie's interests to spend weeks and months re-hashing the entire case?

The focus is on what is new and what has changed and from what we've seen so far the evidence from the parents lawyers is very lacklustre on this point.

Someone in CA has just said that Charlie must be fighting otherwise he'd have died already, even with the ventilator.

The comments from Charlie's QC are interesting:

If I were a nurse, who'd dedicated my career to working with significantly ill children and who was forced to be complicit in a child suffering because of a ridiculous situation, I might find that I was so stressed I'd suddenly make a simple, out of character lapse of judgment which would, tragically, lead to the rapid deterioration of the baby's condition.

It's just as well I'm not a nurse.

Poor Charlie. This is horrendous.

They don't seem able to follow it. Lots of confusion, slagging the Judge off for never even meeting Charlie. Then learning he HAS met him. Not understanding who the guardian's rep is.

The law does not support a full hearing unless there is new evidence. The parents are being challenged to show that the evidence is, in fact, new.

Charlie is now receiving morphine as doctors think he may be experiencing pain. It's all coming out now.

Thanks to those who clarified the position for me re the fact that life support does not always keep people alive if there are infections/organ failure.

I am learning so much about things that I took for granted.

And Charlie is now receiving morphine? Oh god this is heinous......... please let this Judge end this today for that boy.
