To really dislike Andy Murray?

I just can't warm to him, I've really tried but I just can't. I don't want him to win Wimbledon. AIBU and unpatriotic?

Rafa looks like a giant capybara. Plus, isn't it a known secret that he was in drugs and had to come out for a while around the time of all the Tour de France stuff? (Same doctor).

I don't dislike him though - I love capybaras.

I love Andy Murray. He's very talented, hardworking and competitive. Proud of his sport and a team player as well as an individual player.

Very supportive of other players - he defended Nick Kyrgios last year when he was criticised for cracking up, as usual.

Proud Scot, and I'm English, but also a Briton. And very, very clever and droll. If you don't get his sense of humour, I pity you.

I'm so pleased he's just won.

BlueNeighbourhood · 07/07/2017 21:08

To be honest, there was a point I really didn't like Murray, but Djokovic has surpassed him recently. Especially with the rumours hes the Tiger Woods of the tennis world, cheating on his wife with numerous women. He's always been seen as one of the more disliked players and never seems to have had the respect he should command for who he is.

Also, Federer is the definition of class! I love that bloke, he's cool, that bandana swoon And he just seems such a lovely family man. My Gran thinks him and his wife are arrogant though!

MyGastIsFlabbered · 07/07/2017 21:08

Hmmmm yes Marat Safin
Although my very first tennis love was Boris---- (& I still would, I bet he's filthy) and Henri Leconte

I like him

He wants to play good tennis and win

He isn't interested in being a celebrity sportsman and selling his soul to the media I like that

BreezyBreeze · 07/07/2017 21:10

I've hardly been rude about him

Ha ha ha.

How much ruder could you be than to start a thread about not liking him?

jobergamot · 07/07/2017 21:11

Give him a break. He's got aspergers.

I like him. But I probably like Rafa better ;)

Huckleshmuckle · 07/07/2017 21:11

He just comes across that he doesn't really enjoy playing tennis that much, which is ridiculous, you wouldn't train to be as good as he is if you didn't love it.

There was some spoilt brat Australia tennis player the other day who said in his post match interview that he was bored and didn't really want to be there. 🤔

I thought 'you're a twat'.

Much to Anna Wintour's chagrin.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 07/07/2017 21:12

Any man who is a supporter of women is alright by me!!

histinyhandsarefrozen · 07/07/2017 21:13

I love him, dh hates him. ''Tis all fun in our house.
I like that he's private, dignified, focused, strong, serious, dry.
Dh doesn't like him because he thinks he hates England, sigh.

TrinityTaylor · 07/07/2017 21:14

He is so boring in almost every way

Absolute yawn fest

Hope he gets totally thrashed by lovely Roger Feds

RubyRoseRing · 07/07/2017 21:14

l suspect he now knows lots of people don't get him. His humour is very Scottish. But l am pretty sure it doesn't bother him either. l feel l should be loyal as a fellow Scot, but l really wouldn't mind if Rafa Nadal won. Rafa' had such a long haul with injuries. l'd be as happy anyway if he won.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 07/07/2017 21:14

Breezy don't get me started on how rude I could be Wink

Bernard Tomic. I saw him play at the Davis Cup and he's one hell of a talent! It's a shame he's chosen this path of saying that he was bored whilst playing - I feel especially with the young Australian males there is something going on with them. Krygios is my second fave after Federer but he shrouds himself in controversy (and is a Spurs fan...blergh) and Kokkinakis are all similar. Tomic deserves to be fined and banned and I'm pleased he had his racquet sponsorship dropped. He brought the game into disrepute.

jobergamot · 07/07/2017 21:14

and you know what? he was actually a child in the primary school on the day of the dunblane massacre, traumatic event as a child definitely affects adults demeanour.

YABU definitely.

scottishdiem · 07/07/2017 21:15

I get not liking someone. No sure I can think of anyone similarly unoffensive who would compel me to post on a forum due to my dislike though.

So, yes, you are being U OP.

TrinityTaylor · 07/07/2017 21:15

Also Jo Wilfried. He is the definition of a MAN. FUCKING GORGEOUS

sodabreadjam · 07/07/2017 21:15

Maryz - you will have to wait until next year for Stan Wawrinka to win - he went out in the first round.

Runny · 07/07/2017 21:16

YABU, but I think that Federer is a massive twat so what do I know?

I do like Andy Murray, he seems genuinely nice. What's not to like?

RubyRoseRing · 07/07/2017 21:16

jobergamot, aren't you mixing him up with Susan Boyle?Grin

MyGastIsFlabbered · 07/07/2017 21:16
