I've seen loads of threads on here lately with people questioning how people can be a certain dress size at a certain weight.

I'm really interested to se how much it can vary from person to person and if people who are the same weight and height could be completely different dress sizes as I suppose muscle mass is a factor too.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

I'll start it off:

Height: 5ft 4.5
Weight: 8 stone 12 lbs
Dress Size: 10

5 foot 1

Size 12 -14

Was 12 stone 9 in January - Size 16 - yikes

Slowly losing weight - aim to get down to 10 stone 7 but perhaps lower than that as I would still be obese.

People have always said I don't look as heavy as I am but thought they were being polite, I've always been embarrassed by heavy I seem to be!

I am a powerlifter and since I started training I've put on probably half a stone in weight. My shoulders and chest have got bigger as have my quads and arse., so I've had to go up a size. However my waist, where I traditionally put on weight, has stayed the same.

Am fat and on ww, but am over 10st as a size 10, so agree with the bones of leaf comment above.

Was weighed three times by the midwife at birth, I was heavier than I looked even then

LittleLionMansMummy · 30/06/2017 07:53

Lulu I'm the same. When I became pregnant and got weighted the mw said that although bmi classed me as overweight, I didn't fit the typical demographic of a pcos sufferer and didn't look overweight. I suppose I'm quite muscular/ athletic. Regardless, I'm now trying to shift my baby weight plus a little more. I haven't been weighing myself but look and feel healthier and this morning got comfortably into my size 14 jeans which I haven't worn for two years! So I would say I must be 5'6 , around 12 stone and size 14.

When not pregnant:

5'6
10st (just under usually)
Size 10

When I was 17 I weighed 10st but was a size 12. However I work out several times a week now so I think that's the difference.

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 30/06/2017 08:01

5ft and a bit
11.5
14/16 on bottom 16 on top (fairly busty).

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 30/06/2017 08:05

I'm 5'5" and am 50 years old.

I weigh 10.5 stone

I'm a size 12/14 top depending on the shop
Size 10/12 trousers.

I work out every evening so my hips/bum/legs are toned. Sadly there is no hope for my stomach which is why I'm sometimes in size 12 trousers.

bananafish81 · 30/06/2017 08:07

@Neutrogena is every thread supposed to be a representative sample of the national population?

Is the UK average mean or median? If the former then there are going to be a fair amount of outliers at either end of the spectrum. Not everyone is going to be reporting as a size 16.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 30/06/2017 08:07

Another one heavier than they look.

5' 3.5"
don't regularly weigh but between 9st 10 & 9st 12
very definite 8 on top & in dresses and 10 in jeans / trousers

I do a lot of exercise, running, weights, kickboxing etc.
