I've seen loads of threads on here lately with people questioning how people can be a certain dress size at a certain weight.

I'm really interested to se how much it can vary from person to person and if people who are the same weight and height could be completely different dress sizes as I suppose muscle mass is a factor too.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

I'll start it off:

Height: 5ft 4.5
Weight: 8 stone 12 lbs
Dress Size: 10

Really weird as I am a stone heavier than a year ago (had a baby in between) but been exercising a lot recently and am the same size.

5'8" no idea on exact weight 16 stone maybe????? Poss more.... Never weigh myself I go by waistline/ how my clothes fit.
Size 16-18-20 depending on shop.
I am quite muscly and have g size bust.

It is weight distribution that has a big affect on dress size and how well you carry extra weight. My build is broad shoulders and wide hips even when I was slim and toned looking I was a size 14 I would be happy to be size 14 again. For others they would feel fat wearing s14 - it is interesting how different we all are (and marvellous)😁

5 foot 9
12 st 3 (slightly overweight, working on it)
Size 14 (and some 12s, depending on the cut)

Dozyoldtwonk · 30/06/2017 08:31

Interestingly & conversely, I think I weigh lighter than I look; people tend to be surprised that I weigh so little. I don't do a lot of exercise, only walking (although most days I do at least 30 mins to 1 hour). So maybe I have more fat mass than muscle mass? Don't know, but this thread has definitely shown weight is just your effect on gravity!

I'm pregnant, so I'm blaming some of my heft on that but I'm only 9 weeks and I was hefty to begin with

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 80 kilos
Dress size: 14, but shifting into 16 territory due to pregnancy - that really is down to pregnancy I think. Massive boobs and bloated tum! Roll on 12 week scan whereupon I can reasonably dig out my maternity wearx

5'6"
11st 3lb
Size 12-14 on top ( mostly 12s) and 14 on bottom.

I have broad shoulders and hips, so 10st is about as low as I can go without looking gaunt and 10st 7lb would be about perfect for me - not that I've troubled a weight beginning with 10 for a long time.

Lost a few pounds recently through low carbing and cutting out sugar and am one pound off being in the normal BMI category.

Its funny as I used to work with a woman who was the same height, age and shoe size as me, but she was very slim whereas I'm more solid and I think she weighed about 8st7, I'd look seriously ill at that weight.

Oh sorry, we're doing stone!

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 12st 8lbs
Dress size: 14 (usually)

Height: 5'3"
Weight: 70kg
Dress size: 12

I'm an apple with big boobs but smallish hips. But I think I'm what people call small-boned. I have really toned arms and shoulders with skinny wrists, and my legs are pretty toned too, considering I do no exercise except walking. So I think that's why I can fit into a 12. I like to think a lot of my weight is muscle mass!

confusedforthesummer · 30/06/2017 08:50

Height: 5,10"
Weight: 9st7
Dress size: random! Going by accepted measurements an 8, but it varies from store to store, particularly given my height. Anything from a 6 to a 10.

I was 2 stone heavier last year, and went keto - I am now low-moderate carb which has worked for maintenence. Next up is doing some exercise! Urgh.

I'm 5'7"
Weight 9st 12
Size 10 generally but can get into size 8 jeans.

If age is relevant I'm 63

No chance of getting in a 10 and astonished that anyone my size or bigger could. Even the 12 is a close fit generally. I think boob size has a lot to do with it although I'm a 36D so not got enormous tits or owt. I sometimes treat myself to a 16 bottom because I loathe Knicks that dig in. So unflattering.
