To think this is an abomination of a roast dinner!

Friend asked if I wanted to stay for her "famous roast dinner" as she'd cooked plenty.

Now I fucking love a roast dinner so was thrilled...it was Steamed chicken, peas, cheesy spinach, cauli, Yorkshire, stuffing and rice all covered in gravy and cheese with a big dollop of mayo.

Rice...in a roast...with gravy on

I love her dearly but AIBU to think she's fucking insane HmmGrin

Yes. Apparently it's not the "roast dinner" that's a disgrace it's you.

If I was you I'd be glad that the average "Fail" reader thinks you're an ungrateful non war child.

I'm cooking roast topside with all the trimmings, goose fat roasties, Home made Yorkshire puddings, loads of veg, red wine and meat juices gravy, followed by raspberry crumble with custard for pud. If you like I could email your friend the recipes? The. She could invite you again and you could enjoy what you were supposed to get originally.

I've never been a disgrace before! Quite impressed!

Oh good grief! May I join you!!??

I'm five months pregnant and it's sweltering here. I could murder a nice cold g & twhilst doing the spuds but fat chance.

HookandSwan · 02/07/2017 18:01

Oh bless this is in the daily mail!

34AQuid · 02/07/2017 18:11

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 02/07/2017 18:13

I'm bringing the country down!

Hah! Absolutely not but I told her about the thread and the DM and she's highly amused by it all Grin

On a serious note...HOW fucking low can the DM go?

Hilariously shit 'journalism'.

MiladyThesaurus · 02/07/2017 19:54

Oh excellent. I made it into the daily hate's most pointless article of the week.

Unhurried · 02/07/2017 20:02

Me too MiddleClass, don't be associating us with your manky mates' culinary creations OP, however vaguely.
Filth, pure and simple.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 02/07/2017 20:52

MumsTheWordYouKnow · 02/07/2017 21:57

Steamed chicken alone sound like a write off. Yuk and the rest 🤢

brotherphil · 03/07/2017 08:46

I'm not sure I'd call it a roast, but surely the question has got to be "How did it taste?".
Admittedly my family has a tradition of strange, experimental, cooking - never tried duck á la banana, but did get a mention on Radio 2 the other week for our family favourite of peanut butter and pickled beetroot sandwiches.
Maybe you could refer to it as her now-famous "roast"?
