AIBU?

AIBU - a physical trait (of- mine) that I have always hated is now fashionable....

I have freckles, covered in the buggers. Face, arms, knees, legs - everything but my tummy. I hate them with a passion. My DF always joked that in the summer when they were at their most potent, it looked as if I had stood too close to a muddy puddle and someone had dropped a brick in it. Previous sentence is for context not father bashing. He meant it in the best possible way and in humour, I love him dearly.

I am lucky that I tan and don't burn but I do have dark hair so this may be the reason why. I feel so ugly in the summer when they come out fighting. I have good(ish) skin but I long for a clear complection and decolletage.

Anyway, I found this link before on Buzzfeed: linky

I am all for personal preference but who in their right mind would willingly get freckles?

DD2 has the most gorgeous light brown freckles with copper coloured hair and ringlets. I love her freckles. She's my little pixie Grin

I absolutely love my freckles, always have done. I get covered in them in the summer as well.

Natural freckles are lovely, those tattoos are awful. Totally agree with the poster who said they look like massive black heads.

Yes, those tattoos are like blackheads. Why on earth?

My sisters both have loads of freckles and really hate them.

I love freckles. Mine are just small dotty ones but I did, once, as a small child, go with my uncle's suggestion that if I sunbathed with a tennis racket over my face I could get some big smudgy ones like my cousin!

I love freckles! I have a few, but would happily have more

They look beautiful on people :)

Every one is a kiss from an angel (or so my mum told me when I was little). The angels clearly loved me :)

I didn't like mine when I was young because everyone called me freckles all the time. But I live them as an adult. They cover/allow for all kinds of sin!

Ha, I shall look to embrace them! Thank you for all of the lovely freckle based love.

They shall be my key to staying youthful :-)

I love natural freckles, too.

omg, I never realised they would have hid my spots. I have serious freckle envy now. Envy

My sister has freckles all over her face. She's gorgeous. I have a few but I get more in the summer. I love them. They're one of my best features.

People react to my freckles by staring, suggesting i need a wash and asking what is wrong with me.
I can't feel much love for them and I doubt it'll catch on much!
Noone has ever told me they look nice. The "nicest" have told me they're natural / you can't help them.
I think as i am not a looker my freckles don't help.

I like them on other people. I don't have any and am not bothered either way. I don't think people with freckles are any more or less attractive than people without. But I am fond of freckles, I don't think it's a fashion thing.

My girls have freckles, they both remember their (late) Grandad saying that the fairies had forgotten to take their muddy boots off when they danced on their noses as they dreamt.

Made them fond of their freckles!

Pretty sure I read somewhere that some people call freckles sun kisses which I think is a nice way to look at them!

I have always wanted freckles on my nose/cheeks. As a red-head I felt I was short changed- I have a very freckly body and NONE on my face!

I think they're lovely! I only have them in the summer, but I've always wanted year round ones.

I'm in Scotland, half the population have them. :)

I've never really thought about them to be honest. I'm in my 50s and they still come out more in the summer (family has a lot of redheads but i'm grey dark haired) . DSs aren't particularly freckly but did have a smattering across their noses. DH has southern european colouring (Dark Irish blood :) ) so is more moley.

I think freckles are very pretty. Natural ones.

Don't see any use in having them tattooed on. They tend to look best on people who naturally have them.

Beauty trends are rubbish, make most of the population feel ugly for not conforming, a tiny percentage of people feel lucky, and cause some to surgically alter their bodies in a non-reversible way, which with most beauty fashions is much worse than tattooed freckles.

Not a huge fan of the "all women are beautiful" credo, there's no reason why women should have to be beautiful in the first place, but freckles certainly don't make a woman any less beautiful.

I love my freckles, I have them on my arms, shoulders and ,bizarrely, one toe. None anywhere else though. My sister has loads, she's got ringlety ginger hair and facial freckles, they really suit her.

I really really like freckles, I just think they are beautiful and wish I had them. Dark moles on the other hand I could do with a lot less!

I would have killed for freckles when I was younger! I think they're gorgeous. Never had any until I was in my twenties, and now I get a sprinkling across my nose, cheeks & shoulders every summer. Not enough, frankly, but I grin to myself when I see them. I associate them with lovely wholesome fun on the beach and general romping.
