Might get crucified for this but....

She won.

She's had a lot to manage a response and a
Plan to deal with since she became PM.

I didn't vote for her. My partner did.

I feel a bit sorry for her.

Anyone else?

"May has offered no direction, no hope, no guidance to these people. Financially is it as much as she's offering from party funds to ex MPs? Again, nothing is clear."

She has done as they requested and given them the timeline for when they will be rehomed, she's also done everything they've requested in terms of an investigation to date i belive (in terms of what could be done in the short term); ensured the resources are there for the criminal investigation, and started the public enquiry, as well as ensured everything is there that is needed for the rescue operation.

Nikephorus · 17/06/2017 14:41

Even her fans pity rather than admire her and are instinctively protective of her. Not the profile of a leader.
You can feel sorry for someone and still admire them you know...
Having said that, I feel sorry for a lot of people posting bollocks on here but I certainly don't admire them.

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 14:42

However, May's behaviour appears to be somewhat lacking in empathy.

Just like when the nurse on QT asked her about pay rises

Listen to her answer. Not answering the question

Dawndonnaagain · 17/06/2017 14:45

Orlantina she didn't provide any answers on Newnight either.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 14:47

"People will be rehoused as close as possible to their previous address, either in Kensington and Chelsea borough or a neighbouring borough, in order for them to access their same schools and GPs."

GloriaGilbert · 17/06/2017 14:50

This is my first time every saying this, and I normally roll my eyes at such comments, but I'm actually beginning to believe you work for TM or the party.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 14:53

"but I'm actually beginning to believe you work for TM or the party."

Why? Because I have a different view to you? Because my perception on events is different? Of course, that must mean that I work for TM.

Do you think other people in this thread that have come out with views different to yours also work for her?

GloriaGilbert · 17/06/2017 14:54

Do you think other people in this thread that have come out with views different to yours also work for her?

No. BTW, I'm a Tory.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 14:55

GloriaGilbert

Whereas I am not even a Tory.

GloriaGilbert · 17/06/2017 14:58

Fair enough. Wink

thatdearoctopus · 17/06/2017 14:59

How are these people going to be re-housed? Where is the accommodation going to come from? We have a housing crisis with waiting lists of hundreds/thousands. There isn't a ready supply of family homes in K&C (or anywhere else for that matter) for people to move straight into.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 15:01

They've said they will be moving within three weeks - three weeks at the latest I think was the wording - into homes (which i am reading as permanent accomodation). Perhaps the government will be paying high rent for them to access homes quicker (I don't know; one idea?).

NameChanger22 · 17/06/2017 15:12

I didn't vote for her and I'd never vote for the Tories. I think she doesn't care about people at all. I think she's terrible at her job, weak and completely out of her depth making very stupid decisions that will result in hardship and early death for lots and lots of people.

However, I still feel a tiny bit sorry for her because I would hate to be in her shoes and it can't be nice running a country of people who dislike you. I often feel sorry for bad people, criminals etc. Maybe I have too much empathy.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 17/06/2017 15:16

You're literally the one person in the country who has any word of defense for TM today.

She 'literally' isn't.

It's just that anyone who says anything that doesn't toe the 'correct according to Momentum/Corbynista' line is drowned out.

Jezsus & co must be in raptures.

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 15:21

It's just that anyone who says anything that doesn't toe the 'correct according to Momentum/Corbynista' line is drowned out

Fuck all to do with Momentum or Corbyn. This thread is about our Prime Minister and her response to this crisis.

The Newsnight interview is a great example of how she comes across.

scaryteacher · 17/06/2017 15:39

Orlantina I din't see the whole newsnight interview, but saw a clip of it. Maitlis looked deranged. Are you really expecting the PM to burst into tears on TV and weep and wail? She outlined in the clip I saw what was being done to help practically, in terms of housing and cash, which presumably will be of more assistance then her rending her garments on the BBC.

HopefulMog · 17/06/2017 15:41

"t's not her job to go there and get physically attacked by people who are looking for a target for their anger. Totally understand why she didn't meet people there during the first visit."
How fucking insulting. Whoever wrote this do you really think that the families who know that their mother, father, brother, child, baby burnt to death slowly or are still in the process of being burnt to death are going to attack the PM?

That's truly and deeply a disturbing view to hold. It's a depraved outlook.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 15:47

But HopefulMog it is you saying that the "security risk" stated was due to people's level of anger and not terrorism, can you not see how you are perpetrating the rumours that these people want to attack or hurt the PM due to their anger?

HopefulMog · 17/06/2017 15:56

Hahahahaha that's funny monkeybot

You are getting more and more desperate aren't you?

Maybe you should step away from the keyboard for a bit because you really aren't getting whatever viewpoint it is you are trying to convey across convincingly.

WRT to Theresa May and her inability to lead this country effectively....well the cat is out of the bag now moneky no amount of primate screeching is going to change that.

paxillin · 17/06/2017 15:58

Momentum and Corbyn? Just wait for the anti- TM bile coming from the Tory grandees if Labour win the general election we will surely have in the next 18 months.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 16:01

HopefulMog No, no desperation here. You are the one alluding the fact that these people are so angry they are posing the security risk to the PM.

Some risk they pose huh?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 17/06/2017 16:05

I'm sure the Tory grandees will be amongst the loudest, spouting heaps of anti TM rhetoric as and when it suits them to.

The fact remains, that the most hated woman in Britain is still just getting on with it.
While everyone else (politicians of all stripes) are falling over themselves to score party political points, TM is getting on with her job.

Sadiq Khan, mayor of London?
Where is he? What is he doing of tangible value?
Jeremy Corbyn - still hugging folk? What else has he done?

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 16:05

I din't see the whole newsnight interview, but saw a clip of it

You should really watch it.

Her answers are not the answers to the question asked. I expect her to answer the question rather than give a different answer.

It's possible to do that without weeping and wailing.

thatdearoctopus · 17/06/2017 16:06

Bear in mind that there might well be some people in the crowd who are not family and friends at all.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 16:07

"Bear in mind that there might well be some people in the crowd who are not family and friends at all."

Agreed.
