Might get crucified for this but....

She won.

She's had a lot to manage a response and a
Plan to deal with since she became PM.

I didn't vote for her. My partner did.

I feel a bit sorry for her.

Anyone else?

"The 2009 Labour government were the first people who this highlighted to them. Actually."

OMG how puerile.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 11:10

HopefulMog Not at all, it's correct. Some of you are happy to lay the blame solely on TM when this is an issue that has been ongoing for YEARS.

This is everyone's (all parties) responsibility and not just TM's. It is also going to be everyone's (all parties) responsibility going forwards.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 17/06/2017 11:10

How is it puerile to point out that TM WASN'T the first to voice concerns over safety?

Imbeingunreasonable · 17/06/2017 11:11

I don't know how anyone could sympathise with her right now. She put herself in this position. If you had a friend or relative who kept behaving like a dipshit, pissing people off and no matter how many times you told them not to be a dip shit they still did it til eventually they had alienated everyone, would you still comfort them when they come crying that nobody likes them? Weird analogy but you'd probably say 'well you did burn your bridges didn't you? Maybe you should have listened. I've no sympathy for you now'

Imbeingunreasonable · 17/06/2017 11:14

Yep and that report got handed to the tories who have so far been in power for 7 years and have done bugger all about it. If that was my job at work I'd feel like a fucking failure for not acting upon it. But then again I understand the concept and consequences of accountability

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 11:14

Not the people who were responsible for the fire

Are you on of those people who seem to think that you can't hold two thoughts in their head at the same time?

I have zero time for her. She is dismissive and arrogant.

I also have zero time for other people and attitudes that have contributed to this.

Look - TWO THOUGHTS AT THE SAME TIME.

Dawndonnaagain · 17/06/2017 11:14

This is the result of the 1989 housing act in which Waldegrave handed local authority housing over to whomsoever wanted it because Thatcher felt that those living on a 'council estate' were criminals. It actually stated that (in slightly different terms) in the act.

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 17/06/2017 11:16

I also think she ASD

Please. Don't make embarrassing comments like this.

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 11:16

Did you see her response to the nurse on QT about salary?

Dismissive

Did you see her repeated response to education CUTS? We have put in more funding.

Totally dismissive

She is a fucking robot full of soundbites.

HopefulMog · 17/06/2017 11:17

"I don't think she is evil or malicious. No doubt she thinks she is doing her best for the country"
As did Hitler. Not that she is like HItler but thinking she is doing her best for the country is hardly an excuse.

"I do feel sorry for actually. No one deserves to be called a murderer, unless they personally murdered someone . "

I feel sorry for the Tory party's victims and Brexit victims. Those thousands of people who have already lost their lives or will loose their lives because of appalling Tory policies.

The lives lost in the tower could have been prevented. The Conservative party voted against safe housing policies.

Let's find out the names of the MPS that voted against the policy and write to the. They are in part responsible for the horrific murder of innocent people.

HopefulMog · 17/06/2017 11:18

"She is a fucking robot full of soundbites."

I'll ask again, whose puppet is she. Who is actually controlling the current political situation. I very much doubt it is Theresa May.

MonkeylovesRobot · 17/06/2017 11:18

" But then again I understand the concept and consequences of accountability"

So you understand that this is the fault of all parties and not just one? Do you understand how laying this blame at the feet of one party may be detrimental going forwards for all people in living in tower blocks?

GloriaGilbert · 17/06/2017 11:19

Sure, but this isn't about whether the Tories or Labour or to blame, it's about her complete ineptitude in managing a crisis.

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 11:19

And have you seen PMQS when her party laughs at Corbyn when he is discussing the letters and emails he gets from real people?

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 11:21

This.

It's a symbol for everything this Government stands for. Not giving a shit

AmyGardner · 17/06/2017 11:22

One of the only times I've cried this week has been watching a man yesterday stand holding a picture of (presumably) his missing children.

He was just shouting at Prince William 'please, please'. All he wanted was for his missing children to be seen, to be acknowledged, to exist in other people's minds.

That's why leaders need to come out, to make people feel seen and heard and human.

And as for political expediency, the atmosphere wouldn't be anything like as febrile as it is now if she'd just had the balls and the heart to show up on Wednesday, in her jeans, holding her hands up and genuinely telling people that she was on top of things.

By failing them she has failed herself, her party, and the country, and the sooner she fucks off out of history the better. Angry

GloriaGilbert · 17/06/2017 11:24

I don't doubt that she's in the midst of some kind of personal breakdown, and the Tory leadership has been fearful of replacing her because of Corbyn's threats to ask that the Queen allow him to form a government.

derxa · 17/06/2017 11:26

And have you seen PMQS when her party laughs at Corbyn when he is discussing the letters and emails he gets from real people? And the barely stifled derision from Labour party MPs when he did it as well.

FurryLittleTwerp · 17/06/2017 11:32

She's a cold fish.

I voted Labour, for the first time ever, having voted Tory all my life.

thatdearoctopus · 17/06/2017 11:32

One of the only times I've cried this week has been watching a man yesterday stand holding a picture of (presumably) his missing children.

They weren't his children.

MaudGonneMad · 17/06/2017 11:33

Exactly.

GloriaGilbert · 17/06/2017 11:38

Absolutely. And having watched the coverage across all the outlets for the entire morning, I would be deeply concerned for her personal wellbeing if I were her husband. She's actually managed to overshadow Trump.

Orlantina · 17/06/2017 11:40

Remember that speech she came out with on Downing Street when she became PM?

It was rhetoric. I don't believe she thinks that. Nothing I have seen her say when faced with people shows she gets it.

AmyGardner · 17/06/2017 11:43

Not really the point Octopus but ok.

AmyGardner · 17/06/2017 11:45

Someone upthread asked who is controlling the situation. I don't know but I've seen it suggested that TM was talked into standing for leader to act as a palate cleaner before King Boris would be able to swoop in and save the day.

Honestly I barely recognise the country I live in now. From the day of the Brexit referendum to today, every single political event has taken me further and further from a place I want to live.
