...to soak my feet in the washing up bowl

Obviously, the washing up would not be in there at the time. I could do with a nice d -stressing foot soak, but the only bowl I own is the washing up bowl. Should I?

I probably wouldn't, maybe a bath? If you want to then I guess it wouldn't do any harm if it was properly cleaned after.

Jenda · 16/06/2017 18:14

I do this all the time! Just clean it before and after. Am I gross?!

FloatyCat · 16/06/2017 18:15

Only if you never use it for washing up again ..... bleurgh

jarhead123 · 16/06/2017 18:16

I do this. Just thoroughly wash it after!

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/06/2017 18:20

Yes, just clean it afterwards.

Mexxi · 16/06/2017 18:21

When i suggested it, DH looked at me in horror. Maybe I'm gross too then!

Yeuch.
You can't sterilise a plastic washing up bowl.

You could buy another- £1 from many shops and keep it just for that purpose.

saoirse31 · 16/06/2017 18:22

Surely washing after will clean it, so no problem!

BarryTheKestrel · 16/06/2017 18:22

As long as you clean it thoroughly afterwards I would.

I wouldn't.

But I also don't understand the concept of a washing up bowl. All of our dishes that won't fit/aren't safe for the dishwasher get washed in the sink.

Nikephorus · 16/06/2017 18:25

Assuming you have normal feet and no fungal infections, open boils and sores, leprosy-ridden toes or similar then I can't see the problem. Just stick some boiling water in afterwards to clean it.

Chasingsquirrels · 16/06/2017 18:26

It wouldn't even cross my mind that there would be an issue with it, although I have long conceded that my hygiene standards are somewhat lacking. Not that I own a washing up bowl.

What about a bucket?

paxillin · 16/06/2017 18:26

I use the big stew pot.

Badcat666 · 16/06/2017 18:28

Go for it. I do this all the time. Bowl gets a good scrub with boiling water before and after. It's not like you plan to soak your feet in old manky washing up water ffs.

BandeauSally · 16/06/2017 18:31

Grim

FourEyesGood · 16/06/2017 18:32

Perfectly fine. A good clean afterwards will leave it ready to use for washing up.
Some people are so weird about bodies!

Highalert · 16/06/2017 18:34

I thought everyone did this. Don't see a problem.

YellowLawn · 16/06/2017 18:35

yanbu
it's the right size for feet --and the only use for it in my house.

FrogFairy · 16/06/2017 18:38

I have a washing up bowl just for feet. It is pink (for piggies)

ditzychick34 · 16/06/2017 18:38

I don't understand why people think you can't clean it afterwards? Do they never wash up after chopping raw chicken? Perfectly fine IMO

elisa2502 · 16/06/2017 18:39

Gross get a separate bowl! Washing dishes after you've had your manky trotters in it is just vile

Highalert · 16/06/2017 18:42

Why is it vile?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 16/06/2017 18:46

Can't believe how fussy/prissy some people are on here.
I always soak my feet in the washing up bowl before giving myself a pedicure. I just wash it afterwards - nobody has ever died.

paxillin · 16/06/2017 18:46

I don't understand why people think you can't clean it afterwards?

Maybe they have very grubby feet?
