People's Assembly

For those of us who are sick and tired and angry and devastated.

There is the alternative of the Tories forming a minority Government on their own - which still might happen. Minority Governments don't usually last long, but given the political uncertainty in the country now, that would not necessarily be a given this time.

Andrewofgg · 18/06/2017 08:44

HopefulMog Protesting is something you do because it makes you feel good. The myth that you are doing it for the benefit of others is part of what makes it feel good; but it is a myth nevertheless. It is not an altruistic activity.

And that is why the people going about their individual, private, lawful occasions must be allowed to do so.

originalbiglymavis · 18/06/2017 14:25

People are angry. But rentamob only distract from the real problems.

They would be better working at the centres, calling up shops, suppliers and other potential sources for food, shelter and clothes, organising legal help for these people.

sleepingdragons · 18/06/2017 14:34

You keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better for not taking a stand.

It's a total cop out though.

derxa · 18/06/2017 15:14

I will be sure to look out for the teenage boy dressed up as a middle aged woman on the news though! Grin Owen Jones

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 22:47

Christ is the MN RW rentagob still chatting on. WE WILL MARCH

Sigh

A march is not a coup
A march is legal within a democracy
If the government is strong and stable what are you worring about?

The anti marchers or anti democrats on this thread in the main are been extremely pathetic and goady insulting marchers regarding looks clothes writing style age sex etc. I forgot being Nazis...nice that one..privilege, location, education, education of our children, the fact we may have smart phones and technology....

Well done for making yourselves feel superior (except you really haven't shown that have you) to people who want to use thier democratic right to march.

It's an insult to you that people want to march. So therefore we are open to your insult

Pathetic

Carolinesbeanies · 18/06/2017 23:09

I know its bad form simply pasting links, so heres my comment;

Fill your boots Ever. Make up your motivations as you feel like on the day. Bollocks if its the wrong target, they deserved it anyway (he was wearing a suit the tory scum).

Oh, and dont take a blind bit of notice as to the views of a victim. What does he know eh? Your views far more important than any of theirs.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:17

I am not responsible for others actions. Are you?

And I will stand up for the poor and vulnerable. Will you? Shall I post about the poor people who died. Or the people who have survived and how they have been treated?

Would that help you construct your mind set?
Or the NHS cuts or the police cuts or the Fire fighters cuts

This is an anti austerity march
I won't apologise for thinking about the people who have lost family friends and homes.

Like I said. Pathetic

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:21

To add....the Torygraph is hell bent on demonising the poor

Yet again victimshaming.. You want to believe it. You are doing so for your own reasoning and concerns. They have been shocking today.

Madwoman5 · 18/06/2017 23:26

Personally, I would prefer the police to be focussing on identifying and eradicating terrorist cells rather than ensuring yet another protest does not get out of hand but hey, march away

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:28

With a 20% cut in resources.. how can they do that? Tell me. Have you written to your MP?

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:32

Oh and the FT is hardly LW is it. May not agree with 20% but question resource cuts. But we the marchers are the anti government activitst. Get. A. Grip

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 18/06/2017 23:36

ever

Thanks

Ignore the anti democracy posters Smile

They seem...concerned

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:43

rufus concerned about people being unhappy with their version of democracy....when everything goes their way

Well if or when the next election doesn't go thier way will they mount a coup ?

We have a right to know

Madwoman5 · 18/06/2017 23:44

Even more important that they are allowed to use what resources they have wisely then.
Why do we have austerity should be your question. Austerity is a result of overspending without allowing for contingency if something goes wrong. Labour overspent. World markets crashed. There was no contingency. Someone had to balance the books. It was never going to be popular.
A.vote was had. Labour were 64 seats short. the result was never going to be popular with labour voters.
A referendum was tabled. A vote was had. We voted to leave the EU. The result was never going to be popular with remainers.
Sometimes we don't always get what we want.
Sometimes decisions are made that we have to accept.
Sometime we have to wait and see what happens before sitting in judgement of results that are not clear yet.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:52

Austerity is an ideology.

Tell 'sometimes" to the people who have nothing

I'm sad that for you sometimes is more important than NOW for the people who need NOW

And for the over are her services. Do they need NOW or sometimes? You know you can not justify the situation the UK is in
So just stop

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 18/06/2017 23:53

our over stretched services

Which I clearly care about more than the anti marchers on this thread as I am marching for them

Madwoman5 · 19/06/2017 00:13

Why would I want to justify the situation the uk is in?
I have nurses, doctors, police and firefighters in my circle of F&F and things have been tough for years, way before this government and for lots of reasons. There is so much going on behind the scenes that has yet to come to the fore. Now is not always best. Now is not always wise. Invading a council building demanding answers now, prevented the staff from doing their jobs to find new homes for the displaced. Demanding answers before the answers are available does not achieve anything. You say this march is an anti austerity march but the government are already talking about moves to lift austerity whilst maintaining a safe contingency level. I struggle to see what all this anger and hatred will achieve except to bring out more anger and hatred. Our enemies must be loving this.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 19/06/2017 00:15

Stop now with VICTIMSHAMING

The march is something separate.

Shame on you. And read the facts before spreading your lies

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 19/06/2017 05:20

Madwoman could you be nore patronising? and deluded

makeourfuture · 19/06/2017 06:54

This is an anti austerity march
I won't apologise for thinking about the people who have lost family friends and homes.

Absolutely!

olliegarchy99 · 19/06/2017 07:08

And do you all condone/support the so-called 'day of rage' on June 21st ?
This needs to stop now - it is left wing rabid aggression against democracy. Angry

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 19/06/2017 07:10

Err no it isn't
