For those of us who are sick and tired and angry and devastated.

Any other contributions or insults? Or have you run out of them now?

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 16/06/2017 14:12

Thanks for joining us Faith. You have no idea where I live or whatvmy privilege is do you. Thanks for the advice

Well you've assumed everybody else's - I'm merely paying it forward.

And by the way, the less well off & disadvantaged are not a homogeneous mass by the way.

Perhaps bear that in mind when spouting momentum-approved rhetoric.

CrossWordSalad · 16/06/2017 14:16

Well I wonder about the anger expressed on this thread toward protesters and the, at times, demeaning language (or derogatory) labels; snowflake, get over it etc...so there's a anger there that motivates that kind of rhetoric. I dunno, it's interesting. And don't get me wrong, I get that the mudslinging can be two-way

Actually I think that may be the first use of the word "snowflake " on this thread. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Makes you wonder how sad their lives are

Goodness, who said that political debate had gone down hill. And I am confused. Am I

a) a selfish Tory voter, happily ensconsed in my comfortable well-off life who doesn't care about anyone else ?
or am I

b) a saddo with a miserable life?

Alternatively I could be
c) a normal person with all the joys and woes and ups and downs in my life that most people face, and who cares about my family and community and country

but I realise that is a bit of an intellectual leap for some people to see others they disagree with as essentially ordinary human beings, so I won't hold my breath on option c.

augustusglupe · 16/06/2017 14:16

Finallythroughtheroof If you think your protest will make a blind bit of difference to the future of our country then your deluded to say the least!! But protest away if you've got nothing better to do and put even more pressure on our already overstretched emergency services!! Confused

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 14:16

Sigh...nope I haven't assumed your or anyone else's privilege. I really do not care

I have assumed that the insults and tone of those insults thrown at myself and others are jingoistic and imperialistic. That isn't 'privledge' is it? It's a position of thought and processing and world view

Why the anger?

CrossWordSalad · 16/06/2017 14:20

I don't know why I am bothering really but can I ask ever

Why it is okay for you to have strong opinions but not people who disagree with you?

Why it is okay for you to throw insults but not people who disagree with you?

Why it is okay for you to want to make your opinion heard but not people who disagree with you?

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 14:20

It's not a political debate cross

It's a thread for people who want to o on a march. Who really don't care that other people think it is wrong. But those other people are so very angry and passionate to persaude us it is.Why? Haven't you got better things to do?

There is no debate is there? We are going and you are not

frenboop · 16/06/2017 14:22

I am in two minds about the march

Mainly as I feel sorry for the police an emergency services having to deal with it, now of all times.

Not a reason not to have it though I guess

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 14:23

Really Cross if you say so

Check the insults against me on this thread. I'm not angry. Couldn't care less if keyboard warriors push their blood pressure up.

But I am angry enough for the poor and the NHS and everyone affected by austerity to march on 1st July

See you there

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 14:27

Fren I have the utmost respect for all our emergency services. But I see this as a way to show solidarity with them against the cuts that have depleted them. I know a fire fighter who was at Grenfell

As I've said it's an anti austerity march

My mum has confirmed she's coming with me. So I'm off to buy some ugly shoes for my middle aged excitable body

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 16/06/2017 14:29

Why the anger?

Because I'm sick to the back teeth of people who get overexcited about Protests! Marches! Tory Scum! Poor People Need Me To March!

From people who post shit insinuating that they're somehow Better People! and Care! because they are off to yet another fucking march, or because they Voted Labour!

From people who shout down and sneer at people who disagree with their holier than fucking thou attitude.

Easy to do all those things if you have the luxury of being able to virtue signal about whatever is in vogue at the time.

Not so easy to do so when you are a lone parent/disabled/counting the pennies/no time to indulge in Marches! because you're running just to stay still & frantically trying to keep all the balls in the air.

Does that explain it?

frenboop · 16/06/2017 14:32

I work with fire fighters. You find much love for the labour party. Ask your fire fighter friend about John Prescott.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 16/06/2017 14:35

But I am angry enough for the poor and the NHS and everyone affected by austerity to march on 1st July

And yet sadly devoid of any sense of self awareness.

Perhaps, just perhaps, some of the posters who are of a different opinion to you, that you dismiss & sneer at, are the actual people you say you are bothered about.

Or are they the wrong sort of poor because they don't conform to what you expect them to conform to?

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 14:35

Nope faith it does not.

You have no idea about anyone's life on here. So no your anger is just that. It's yours. Its not mine or my fault because I want to go on a march with my mum or voted Labour or or or or

It's yours to own I'm afraid.

frenboop · 16/06/2017 14:35

You WONT find much love

originalbiglymavis · 16/06/2017 14:36

everthibkyouvebeenconned - your friend is a hero. I saw a photo of a one of the crews on a break and it reminded me of photos of soldiers in the trenches.

I have a relative who heads fire a station in the states. She she was over here recently and had a look around a station in Kensington (firefighters take a badge along to a station when they are travelling and have a pike around) and the things they were saying were their 'shiny new' kit she said were pretty old hat compared to what she has.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 16/06/2017 14:36

Don't worry, I completely own my opinions & my anger.

Nice try at minimising it though.

Three cheers!

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 14:39

fren not what I've found from my own experience but I guess everyone's friends are different aren't they.

original he sent a picture of himself on rest
His eyes said it all. Truely awful

originalbiglymavis · 16/06/2017 14:57

I hope he gets counselling.

BabychamSocialist · 16/06/2017 15:05

To all people saying that protesting is 'protesting democracy', let's put your words in a different sentence shall we?

"How dare those black people march on Washington for 'rights'. The govt was democratically elected, so of course it's OK for them to be segregated from white people!"

Get real.

There is nothing wrong with protesting against a disgraceful government, whether they were elected or not. I don't have to sit and let the Tories do what they want because I didn't vote for them. I will oppose their disgusting govt. with every fibre of my being.

This protest is needed now more than ever - Austerity KILLS.

Peregrina · 16/06/2017 15:06

I disagree that no Leadership is being offered
Not by Mrs May, who 9 days ago was in possession of a small but working majority and is now struggling to form a Government.

Yes, I am old enough to remember the old days, having first voted in 1970. Yep, I remember another Tory MP who called an unnecessary election - asking 'Who Governs the Country?' To which the answer came back 'Not you, chum'.

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 15:07

So do I mavis I hope they all do. And the poor people who had to watch this nightmare too. And live in blocks opposite

originalbiglymavis · 16/06/2017 15:11

I know people who were in counselling for years after being at 9/11 (emergency responsers and witnesses).

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 16/06/2017 15:27

Please disassociate me from any further posts from bill

Preferably forever

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 16/06/2017 15:50

Oh Mavis I know it's heartbreaking. Today on SM they were sharing details of where children can get free counselling. Poor poor loves
